I'm thinking they shut down the award system while they figured out what went wrong. That or we booked all awards.

I hope there is no meaning behind this "modified" status

I've had normal reservation be "modified" before and it's not necessarily a bad thing

That's odd. Mine still says 6pax.

I have redemptions at other hotels on my account and they also show modified. I don't think it is anything to worry about.

I'm not worried, just pointing out that they checked the reservation.
Maybe they made a note that my RA benefits should be honored

Well, it appears that somebody booked the availability in early January (9th, 10th, etc...), since shortly after I posted those dates as being available they were taken. Would be nice if that person would "give back" to the community here and report on what happened at check-in.

I recommend to all that you wait with any of flight bookings.
I´m sure there will be some changes.

Overnight my 3BR villa w/6 people in February was changed (by IHG I assume, not me) to 1King Ocean View/2 people.

So I can assume how this is going to go down......
