I saw a pending charge on my cc for the MXN amount the other day, but that went away and no charges ever went through since.

Curious as to how this turns out.

On the web, I'm still in pesos. I believe the rate says, "MXN 59.00 or 236,500 Delta Sky Miles."

Good luck with that. Your next call will no doubt be to your credit card company.

Follow up on stays

Just checked my credit card and I was charged $66 for the one night stay on 12/13. I just sent them my email to protest this incorrect charge with my copies of my reservation of the charge which should have been closer to $5 All of my reservations clearly show what I was to have been charged. However, as a precaution I do plan to cancel the other reservations not taken yet. Anyway else cancelling theirs as well?

Yeah I cancelled them all. It's just too much effort to get them to straighten it out. It will eventually all work out but too much hassle for me.

There are plenty of ~$25 no-show opportunities with zero hassle. I'll pay a bit more but have the points next week.

I think it will - just need to fight that charge. I think with the confirmation mail we have a strong argument. And I think the no-show will count for the promo as a stay - we just need to follow up on it.

Smart move - I'll remember that next time

I have also cancelled my remaining reservations as I am unsure if some of this blatant disregard for the actual rates booked is because the hotel is not in the US. I will update my follow up on at least the one stay I was charged at the much higher rate.

Argh! Cancelled one of the reservations and only then did I realize that the other one was non-refundable. Lesson learned.

learned my lesson

I am the OP.

I thought I would post these low rates because if someone was going to stay at the MEX Airport Ramada that they might be able to take advantage of the rates that were probably an error. I thought maybe a handful of people could actually benefit.

I had NO idea that these rates are played to garner points. I am embarrassed that this Ramada was subjected to all this hassle from what appears to be lots of fictional reservations. I'm sure they lost business and in these economic hard times, I feel bad that I was a part of this. I should have a done a little research about this forum before I posted.

I just hope that my legitimate reservation wasn't thrown out or cancelled with the chaos my post created.
