bizydeal: 50% off 12-pack gift cards for hotels

I did search for bizydeals- didn't see this: 1200 value for 600 for all major brands once u buy card go online do search enter code and it deducts 100 off which you then pay w/cc.Looks like this is tied in w/expedia. Card expires 3/31/2012. about 1 day 8 hrs left to buy this. Did sample search and quite a few hotels-didn't see anything about not getng miles/points with this. If the lamps show up, just click on the"More Deals" banner.http://www.bizydeal.com/?did=3822&rf...ampaign=Launch PS- they are only good on min 2-nite stays. Also this is thru 3rd party site so if you see a Hyatt for example, I don't think they credit you miles/pts if you book thru this; it might be best for boutique/independent hotels.

youll eventually find out that it is not such a good deal, in my opinion a pretty poor one.
It requires 2 nights, so you essentially get $50 off 2 night stay, and you have to pay a fee of $10, so net discount is $40, and not to mention that the prices are a bit inflated, hence no discount at all...

You will come a little ahead when you factor in cashback and/or coupons, but don't forget that you earn no points with the hotel chain that you will be staying at. So not such a good deal in my book....
Marriott 10% off gift card promo is way better in my book.

I want to like hotelclub.com, but I'm having a hard time with it because they don't have any hotels (at least that I found) under 75.00 a night. That seriously limits your choices.

But, if I were already planning on staying at a 75+ hotel and didn't care about the points, the prices I checked were equal to what you find through Kayak. So, a good deal I think, if you know where you're going already, the hotel is actualy listed on hotelclub, and the hotel is over 75 a night.

I didn't know that much about them, but I just saw the offer today and decided to post it hoping maybe you guys maybe knew about it via other offers or experiences. That's where FT benefits. I certainly wouldn"t shell out 600$ unless like previously stated, you knew of certain prop's where it would benefit you. Oh well..

Where is the $10 fee mentioned? I can't find it. Is it included in the taxes?

Also, while comparing prices in Singapore, I didn't see that the prices are inflated:

Marina Bay Sands $269.11 HotelCard $276 Expedia $293 Orbitz
Holiday Inn Atrium $174.56 HotelCard $175 Expedia $158 Orbitz
Conrad Centennial $185.47 HotelCard $202 Expedia $219 Orbitz
River View Hotel $114.26 HotelCard $114 Expedia $114 Orbitz

It seems to me that if you book hotels below $150/night all-in it's a decent deal if you stick to 2-night stays, provided there is no $10 fee. Better than 10% off. The main problem I have with it is the 1 card per stay limit, but if you're traveling with someone you can just alternate 2-night bookings.

.
I didn't see the USD$10.00 fee either, BUT the card can not be refunded if you cancel the reservation and many of the reservations are non-refundable.

Here is a sampling that I did:

Cebu, PH - Check-in: 28 July 2011; Check-out: 29 July 2011
(lowest available rate regardless of room type)
.................................................. .......thehotelcard.com......agoda.com
Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino........USD$ 80.63.............USD$ 89.00
Marco Polo Plaza Cebu...........................USD$ 85.93.............USD$101.00
Marriott City Cebu................................USD$117.78.... ..........N/A
Crown Regency Hotel and Towers............USD$ 75.89..............N/A
Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu........................USD$ 87.49...............USD$116.00
Shangri-La's Mactan Resort & Spa............USD$196.30..............USD$241.00

Bangkok, TH - Check-in:05 August 2011; Check-out: 06 August 2011
(matched room types)
.................................................. .....thehotelcard.com........agoda.com
Lebua at State Tower............................USD$126.65....... ......USD$127.00
The Peninsula Bangkok..........................USD$281.18....... ......USD$281.00
Banyan Tree Bangkok............................USD$154.55..... ........USD$193.00
Tower Club at Lebua............................ .USD$190.00.............USD$190.00
Le Meridien Bangkok..............................USD$165.40... ..........N/A
The Westin Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok.....USD$162.09.............N/A

These are real travel dates for me and places that I would for the most part consider staying if the price were right. The hotelcard.com seems like a good deal for the PH (even with the USD$10.00 fee) but much less so for TH (based on this single travel situation.)

I am still considering the deal but given the deals for Discover America I might want to conserve my funds.

No - its actually not bad if your parameters are right for the deal. Hotelclub was introduced earlier in the week with the 75 card for 40 (or something similar) so this is actually a good deal if it suits your needs.

Keep 'em coming - and thanks for posting it.

Thanks rusty and 10hands. I'd love to get on this but it doesn't seem that Bizydeal knows there is a big universe outside of the US of A

this deal is for thehotelcard.com, an affiliate of hotels.com, not for hotelclub.com, an affiliate of orbitz.com.

i have outlined a way how to book the hotels that are priced under 75 usd here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hotel...l#post16140749

you guys are right.
but again the most important - is that you get no points with the hotel you are staying with.
Granted it is a very good deal in foreign countries where hotels are somewhat cheaper and more luxurious.... Thailand and India comes to mind...

nonetheless when combined with a coupon it is ok deal...
I'd however be more interested in travelamerica deals, where you can get $1000 marriott gift card for $800, whereby youpractically get 20% off future stay, no strings attached(no min nights, get credit and points for the room) plus all the bennies and are FULLY flexible...

so for those that have rock solid plans and cant cancel this is a good deal... for mattress runners/status earners this is a poor value...

you do get credit for your guest program when booking an eligible rate. i had a look at marrriott and accor properties and the site offered eligible rates only.

what i think is more concerning is that hotels.com/thehotelcard.com is more competitive in agoda's home market bangkok. seems like their market managers need to do their home work...

Thanks.

I think the best deals are those hotels that is priced as close as possible to $50 per night in cheap Asian cities.
