The Friends and Family rate is intended to be offered to travellers who are "friend and family members" of a Carlson employee. That could be a hotel employee, a travel agent (Carlson Wagonlit) or restaurant employee (TGIF) (TGIF sold to Sentinel Capital Partners as of July 2014).

When you book the rate, you are supposed to have the basic data on your friend available at check-in for the hotel to verify that you are indeed authorized to use that rate. Generally, if they ask, they ask for:
1) Employee Name
2) Work location

Please consider that, as per T&C, only employee name and location can be requested only at the check in time.

The new code is RHGRFNF
NOTE:
Booking a rate that you're not entitled to book may result in rate adjustments and Club Carlson account freezing.

In general, the rate is €80 per night in Europe.

*These stays post as "Ineligible" - non-qualifying, non-stay, non-points earning ... so, in sum, don't associate a F&F reservation with your Gold Points account, unless elite perks you hope to enjoy are worth the risk.

Please stop posting asking about rate codes you are not entitled to... just read the thread or use Google ("Club Carlson Friends Family" will give you results on the first page) if you still want to give it a try.

Hi, I'm totally new to this. Am looking to travel and stay in hotels. Would you be able to tell me what this code is and how it works, in order to get discounts. Thanks a lot.

Hi, I'm new to all this. Please let me know what code to use and how it works. Does it work for hotels other than Radison, like Hilton etc. Please let me know. Thanks.

Jeez, stop posting the same thing over and over. If you were entitled to use the code (i.e. if you actually had a friend or family member who worked for CC), then they would give you the code.

I agree, any rqst for a friend/how to book etc should immidiately be deleted.

This thread is for sharing experiences with the F&F rate at Carlson Hotels; nothing else. Please respect that.

Hi peajc
Have stayed several times at this hotel...very close to Marble Arch end of Oxford Street. Usual Radisson standard of expectations...staff friendly, great breakfast. You will be asked for your FF details at check-in and likely also emailed for their details prior to arrival...I have been asked each time.

I have a general question about this rate. I know someone that works at CWT, so I could use it, how restrictive though is the rate? As in if there's a room available can you get the F&F rate, or is it capacity controlled and you might only find it available at a particular hotel on 4 dates within the next 3 months?

thanks

It is very much capacity controlled and it really depends on the destination, season and property. Some high end/expensive hotels doesn't seem to participate at all whereas hotels with low rates in general have many dates/rooms available. In general availability is very limited.

Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London refused to honor a FF booking, stating at check-in that "it hadn't been booked properly". Front desk stated that the employee was supposed to email an authorization directly to the hotel and that this process had been in place for years.

I think that process is for Employee rate booking and NOT for F&F rates !
