Dinner in Tuen Mun

Hi,

I'm spending a night at the Novotel Citygate and since we're travelling with young kids, may or may not be up to doing much that evening.

*IF* we end up not venturing into town, can anyone make some recommendations for dinner in Tuen Mun?

Thanks

Tony

Tuen Mun? How did you end up there?

The Novotel Citygate is in Tung Chung. Is that what you mean? I'd think the hotel will have the better restaurants in the area.

And Tuen Mun is far from town with no MTR access. ;) I'm sure the OP meant Tung Chung as there are no Novotel Citygate in Tuen Mun.

I think there is an outlet shopping mall nearby (it might even be connected). There should be some Chinese and Western restaurants in the mall.

Yes the Citygate Mall is adjacent to the hotel.

I just stayed at the Novotel Citygate in May.

If you walked passed the Outlet Mall (on the lower level), there is a passageway (if you see the KFC there you are right on) which leads you to the bus terminal and then the local mall where the locals go. There is a Japanese restuarant, a Hong Kong style chain cafe and further down a Cantonese dim sum restuarant if you like to eat like the locals.

There is a supermarket, a bakery, a photofinish store, a laundry place and a stationary store with cute stuff, just FYI. If you are adventurous enough, go down the escalator, and walk into the local veggie market for a look. There are a few food stalls and bakery (just point and pay) that serve delicious local breakfast and lunch. Try the Hong Kong style tea too.

Have fun,

WA
