Only 60 cigarettes allowed duty free from April 1st

HK residents and passport holders are treated equally in terms of the quantity of dury free allowence, effective April 1st 2007.
60 Cigarettes and one liter of alcoholic liquor are allowed for personal use.

The only difference is that a HK residentr has to be out of HK for at least 24 hours to qualify. This does not apply to passport holders.
