Yes, the short-lived antibody test program. It looked so promising and inviting. For about a week.

Yep.
Just enough time to manage to book a fight + hotel booking, and see it canceled the next day. Good memories.

The numbers are beyond belief. Yesterday March 17, there were 1,828 departures at the airport. Arrivals? Just 155.

Countless parents once believed in the commandment: "Thou shalt not emigrate/send your kids overseas except during winter/summer term breaks." The "sudden summer vacation in March" just shattered that religion. Adding to the misery of living in a lockdown (empty streets, two-people dining before 6 pm), they're all leaving ASAP. No summer break, no summer peak.

You know something is very wrong when you start losing 0.5-1% of your population to emigration. Every. single. month.

It's a trick a country has been known to apply lately... "One country, one system", then?

it is already a problem that HKG has exit control. Could shut down an exit pretty fast. Just saying. My relatives are pretty much all gone now. Unfortunately the ones left are the anti vax folks pro6at highest risk. I wish them all the best but at some point, you have to take responsibility for your own stupidity.

Friend of my OH has been sent to quarantine camp in HK after testing positive. Apparently other than the rooms the other facilities such as showers and toilets are communal. Makes perfect sense.

From today's HK Standard:

"On the other hand, 11 passengers on Cathay’s CX796, which arrived from Jakarta, Indonesia, tested positive on arrival, while three passengers arriving in Hong Kong from Bangkok, Thailand via CX702 also tested positive. The Department of Health has banned Cathay flights from the two cities until April 2. It also banned Turkish Airlines’ TK083 flight, which flies to Hong Kong from Istanbul, Turkey, after three passengers tested positive for Covid-19 on arrival. The flight ban will last until April 4."
