MCT CX to HX
 

Hi guys I'm hoping to get some good advice from you,

I will be flying from JFK to HKG on CX831 which is scheduled to arrive in HKG at 19:05, then I want to take a Hong Kong Airlines flight (HX304) to Beijing that same evening which is scheduled to depart at 20:40.

I'm not checking in any luggage and I am planning to get my boarding pass via the HX app, i'm also flying J on the CX flight so I expect that I will get to disembark the plane pretty quick.

I have been at HKG before and i'm familiar with the airport but i'm not sure if a 1,5 hour connection windows is enough (which of course also depends of my inbound flight).

What do you guys think, is it doable?

There is an airside security re-check that sends you straight upstairs to the departure hall, and that has always for me been a matter of a few (~5-10) min, so this sounds totally doable as long as flight is on time.

Edit to add: also do factor in that train ride you will need to take to the remote gates probably, but that's also only a few extra more (10?) minutes.

Thank you for your reply, I guess it all depends of my inbound flight.. Anyway, I also found a flight with KA later that evening to PEK so i'm playing it safe and will be taking that one.

Thanks for the update. As you will be flying KA and being a OW Sapphire you will be able to use the business lounges ( unless in F in which case the F lounges will be available also)
