Flying back from KL that morning. With KA intra-Asia on-time history and KA busing pax to main terminal I doubt if I can make it.
Thanks for setting this up.

Also, Taiwan, Vietnam and Korea all nationally observe the lunar new year. calling it “chinese” new year would be grossly inappropriate. it is as silly as speaking french to an english person imho.
talking about which, i need to commendate the staff at IC Osaka who did not annoy me with saying “chinese” new year.

because it is based on the lunar calendar and that is not only the so-called chinese observe? Lunar New Year is the gazatted holiday in Hong Kong.

The reason I am confused is because I have asked people from Hong Kong and Vietnam and they all call it "Chinese New Year". So I guess everybody calls it what they want, but the generic term is Lunar New Year. I will continue to say Chinese New Year, because that is what everybody I know calls it. Thanks for the explanation.
theres a movement here in hk to move away from calling it cny

How about calling it in some latin-like term (I'm thinking of the Canadian Victoria Cross) like Tết https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T%E1%BA%BFt?
