transferring to airasia

Hi, I will be landing from an AA flight from LA and connecting to AirAsia with 3hours between flights assuming no delays .I am not checking my rollaboard on AA but will need to for AirAsia. What are the procedures in HKG for doing this and do I have enough time? TIA

AirAsia doesn't provide transit service at HKG, so you have to go through immigration and customs -- fill out an immigration card if one wasn't given to you onboard -- then after exiting customs find the check-in desk for AirAsia. It may be in T2, which you'll walk to by following the signs. After checking-in, follow the signs to go back through security and immigration and head to your gate. Don't dawdle: getting to the gate can involve a long stroll after security, especially for budget airlines. But if your inbound flight is on time, three hours should be enough. Remember that AirAsia is strict when it comes to observing their check-in cut-off time.
