Medicine at customs

Can you bring Advil, immodium and melatonin pills for your own consumption into Hong-Kong and Macau? That means one box each.
I don't have a prescription since it's sold over the counter.

1. Keep them in their own containers as much as possible.

2. Similar, or in some cases, same brand name, medicine are available in Hong Kong as well.

Eh? By definition each country's OTC (Over The Counter, i.e. not requiring a prescription) drugs are legal there. But each country has a different list of what constitutes OTC!

+ 1

As an example, steroid is heavily regulated in Hong Kong, which you won't get any without a prescription. But in the U.S., there are certain OTC topical cream/ointment that contain steroid.
