Non Smoking rooms at Macau Casinos?

Hi,

Just wondering if there are designated non smoking rooms at Macau Casinos?

I like the suites at the Venetian, although I haven't really looked at any other casinos.

Thank you.

Maybe hotel rooms might be designated as non-smoking but there is no guarantee.

IIME Casino is synonymous with smoking in Asia. I have never seen a non-smoking gaming room in Macau.

The better hotels such as the Venetian supply very effective air purifiers so even smoking rooms smell clean (fabrics not full of smoke, etc.). I don't smoke and had a special suite which was only available as smoking and it would qualify as a non-smoking room (this was at the Sheraton). Think you will be fine, even the public areas are not bad despite smoking being so prevalent. A lot better than most smoking countries.

I know about smoking in non smoking rooms but at least I can start out with a fresher room than if EVERY room had smoking.

I know this from the Sydney Casino. I love The Darling hotel and there designated smoking floors (so wrong that the Government lets a casino do whatever they want) but so many rooms have that faint smell of smoke. Yuck.

Hopefully the air filters work very well in Macau.

Thanks.

That's good if your smoking room wasn't that bad. Thanks.

Casinos are generally smoke free these days, with a few smoking areas scattered around the gaming halls. So you can still smell the smoke lingering, but it's nothing like e.g. Vegas.

I do smoke myself, so I am well aware of when i am not allowed to do so. And that is the case throughout large areas of the Casinos and gaming halls. Or are you talking about separate gaming rooms for high rollers etc.? Never been in one of those

I was just there about a month ago and surprised to find that non-smoking areas in the casinos in Cotai, at least, had expanded hugely. Some casinos had gone almost entirely non-smoking except for one room. Big changes -- Macau (and China) is not a democracy and gamblers will gamble regardless.

Is smoke free by law http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articl...away-elsewhere . I think the anti-smoking lobby has gone too far.

The main gaming halls are smoke-free. But that's also NOT where most of the bets (monetary wise) are placed. Those were placed in VIP rooms "upstairs".
