eChannel with US APEC card

Has anyone been able to apply for HK eChannel using a US APEC card? The reason why I ask is that they specifically state that the APEC card needs to specifiy HKG on the back. Stupid US APEC cards are blank on the back side. See below:

(3) Holding one of the following valid documents:
- HKSAR Travel Pass;
- APEC Business Travel Card with ‘HKG’ printed on the reverse side;
- Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) Frequent Visitor Card; or
- Frequent Flyer Programme membership card issued by airlines which have joined this scheme (please enquire with your airline).

Being a UA 1K is good enough for e-Channel service. You don't really need your APEC card to get e-Channel service.

AFAIK - the reason why the U.S. APEC has no information in the back is your information was not shared and reviewed with other APEC countries. In order to get an APEC card from a non-U.S. APEC country, the local authority will submit your information to all non-U.S. APEC countries for review.
