Just want to report back on the Klooks airport transfer.
It was excellent!

Our flight was supposed to land at 11.15pm. So we booked the van at standard rate instead of the post-midnight rate which is more expensive. On the fine-print, it said that the driver will wait the first 75min from the time of scheduled arrival free of charge... anything after that will be billed as 150HKD/hour without proration. I thought the 75min thing was more than generous. As it turned out, our flight parked at gate 15min late, then it took another >50min from then till we were finally landside at Arrivals Hall. Long immigration queue. We needed just about all of that 75min window. Really appreciate Klooks for that 75min policy, because they could extract more money by making it 60min instead.

The van was clean, the driver was professional and wide-awake, everything was prepaid so hassle-free. Keep in mind that, with the 3rd row of seats up, there's not too much luggage space in the trunk... our 25" suitcase and two rollerboards fit fine, but anything more would've been tight without lowering down the 3rd row to increase the trunk space. I believe the van (Alphard?) seats 1 on front passenger seat, 2 on 2nd row, 3 on 3rd row.

And it's super-convenient!

It's mind-boggling how the machines apparently (1) don't accept credit cards, and (2) don't sell (discounted) round-trips, for either of those you have to queue at the service desk.

I'm flying with PR into HKG next month, on a UK passport, arriving late at night (2335) to Terminal 1. I walk fast, will be travelling solo and very light (small hand bag only) and have some familiarity with HKG though not been through there since 2014. Can anyone take a guess as to the likelihood of being able to make the last Airport Express into HK at 0048? Trying to decide whether to buy a ticket in advance on my phone or give up and take the NA11 bus or or a cab.

An hour seems like it'll be enough and for HKG standards, there aren't a ton of flights arriving around that time. Looking at Wednesday, December 5th:

23:10 KA 483 TPE (A321)
23:10 KE 607 ICN (A332)
23:10 KA 903 PEK (A333)
23:15 CX 764 SGN (A359)
23:15 CX 934 MNL (A359)
23:15 UO 754 CNX (A320)
23:25 KA 376 CRK (A320)
23:25 KA 789 CAN (A320)
23:35 CX 479 TPE (77W)
23:35 HX 313 PEK (A359)
23:35 PR 312 MNL
23:40 BR 827 TPE (A321)
23:40 SQ 868 SIN (772)
23:40 UO 647 NRT (A321)
23:45 RS 531 ICN (A321)
23:50 MH 78 KUL (738)
23:55 UO 689 KIX (A321)

Mainly narrowbodies on airlines that will be heavy w/HKers, who presumably have HKID cards and can access the special lanes, thereby not clogging up the lanes for visitors. My only tip is to not worry about buying an Airport Express ticket or how much is on your Octopus card and instead just board the train and pay on arrival. This may end up determining whether you make the last train or not but certainly not having checked baggage increases your chances a lot.

You can buy the ticket online while on the train to HK from HKIA.

If you don't have local data, HKIA has free wifi and some of the cars on the AEx has free wifi as well.

The Airport wifi is more reliable.

If your phone works in HK, then just board the train if you can make it, and buy the ticket on board using the Klook app.
