How to Fly to HK for 1st Time

Which airline should I fly? Cathay Pacific, Singapore, United or Continental? Any advice? Why should I pick one airline over the other?

Thank you very much in advance!

help by giving your constraints / desires --

cost?
miles earning?
inflight?
connections?
alliances?

No constraints on those. The only thing I care about is maximum comfort in Economy class. Thank you!

I would say (no bias... ) go for CX because HKG, after all, is the home of CX. But they have a hard shell economy seat that you may or may not like - do some digging around the CX forum here and see what you think.

BTW, where are you flying from? I'm sure not all of those airlines offer direct flights from the same place?

Supposing you're flying ex-SFO, CX is probably the best option (if you don't mind the shell seats in Y - but it's really personal opinion, you'll never know unless you've sat in them). SQ is also ok, but I don't quite like their hard seats on the 77W, although they recline. Delta is also a good option to HKG (since you're DL PM), but seeing as you're based at SAT, flying to DTW or any of their hubs to connect to NRT (2-stops) would be inconvenient.

If you don't care about cost (), why not consider Business?

Since you are DL PM you get complimentary Economy Comfort upgrade over the Pacific. More recline/legroom and complimentary drinks.

The only issue flying DL for you is getting to the gateway. From SAT you can try SLC or LAX to NRT and then onto HKG.

You get beer and wine with all airlines TPAC. DL's Economy comfort also include unlimited liquors.
