HK/Macau/Zhuhai/Shenzhen

I would be travelling to HK for 7 days for a holiday and I would like to visit China as well.

I will arrive and depart from HKIA.

Does this travel plan make sense?

1st Day Noon Arrival @ HKIA--> Macau
2nd Day Macau --> Zhuhai
3rd Day Zhu hai --> Hongkong
4th Day Hongkong
5th Day Hongkong
6th Day HK --> Shenzhen for Day Trip
7th Day Morning Departure

This is my first trip to all the places. Will it be too rush to visit most of the attractions in each city?

Are you American? Have you gotten your visa? Two entries or more? In my opinion, Zhuhai and Shenzhen are not worth the US$140 visa Americans have to pay. At least not for short leisure visits like yours.

I'm not American, so no visas needed. Would it be easier to go to Shenzhen first from Zhuhai then to go from Hongkong?

You don't need a visa to China? Very few countries match that (Like Singapore). If you go from Zhuhai to Shekou (Shenzhen) by ferry and then to Hong Kong you need only single entry if you need visa for China.

Yes I'm Singaporean. Will it be too rush to visit all 4 cities in 7 days? I'm thinking if its too rush, I shall skip Zhuhai and spend more time in Hong Kong. There seems to be so much to be explored but I do not want to end up feeling bored too.

There's hardly anything worth seeing in Zhuhai. Just another brand-new city in China. Spend both of your first nights in Macau, since there is actually bunch of historical sites there (though as a Singaporean, you may find it pretty similar to Malacca). If you want to say you've been to Zhuhai, just walk over from Macau, take a look, U-turn and cross back.

Question is, what is the OP planning to do or see in Zhuhai/Shenzhen. If the purpose is just to "be" in Zhuhai and Shenzhen, then just connect to another ferry in Shekou after arriving from Zhuhai on Day 3. Don't even bother staying there.

If it is to see the "downtown" of Shenzhen (either overnight or not), then just get over to HK side via the Luohu/Lowu or Futian/Lok Ma Chau crossing, and use HK's East Rail to get to the city. No need to go back to Shekou to take ferry.

What's to do in Zhuhai:
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractio...Guangdong.html

Shenzhen:
Window of the World
Queen Spa
Shopping
Happy Valley
Dapeng Fortess

If you end up in Lowu, you could take the train into HK.
Its not really too far to go back to Shekou ferry port and take it
to HK island or Kowloon.

While I've taken the Shekou-HK ferry and it's nice, it's not that frequent (only 6 sailings from Shekou each day), and only to Hong Kong Island now (no more Kowloon). And it costs 105RMB.

Compared to the train that runs every few minutes and cost under HK$40 for TST and just over $40 for Central.

In fact, even from Shekou, it might be faster (and definitely cheaper) to just take a taxi to the Shenzhen Bay crossing and then take one of the many buses to various points in HK.

Take out Zhuwai and spend more time in HK.

I spent 9 nights in HK and one full day in Shenzhen and I could have stayed longer!

If shopping is your thing, then get to LoWu (Shenzhen) around 10am. You could finish up the day at the Queen Spa which is open 24 hours and then train it back to Kowloon (45mins on the train)

I wouldnt take the ferry to Shenzhen and keep criss crossing with transport options.

Ferry to Kowloon after Macau and then train return to LoWu

Thanks for all your suggestions! Seems like Zhuhai isnt a favourable destination to visit. I thought it would be a good place to shop for its cheap prices.
