You're opening up a huge question that will endlessly clog this thread.

options:
- taxi
- maglev + taxi
- subway and short walk

I think taxis are best. As I mentioned upthread, Maglev + taxi is unlikely to be faster, and I personally don't like booking private cars from the airport because you need to find the driver, and often walk through the parking structure to get the car. On the way to the airport, didi is a great option though.

We'll be arriving from Chengdu so I was trying to make our airport arrival experience as smooth as possible. After further reading taking a taxi is probably the easiest. Thank you!!

When I have time, I will create a new general thread on Shanghai transportation options in the China forum, but I am a strong advocate of taxis in the instant case because the Bund is remarkably inconvenient for public transportation. Nanjing Dong Lu Stn (formerly Henan Lu Stn) is about as close as you can get, and it's not that close, especially if you have luggage and/or small children. Furthermore, Line 2 is often extremely crowded.

The Heritage building will have restricted access from 00:00, Nov 22 to 00:00, Nov 23. Long Bar and Pelham's will be closed Nov 20 - 23. Bar service will be offered in Peacock Alley. Wei Jing Ge and Grand Brasserie will operate as normal.
Just seen this on my booking, anyone got any idea what is going on? Thanks

Recommendation for the WA vs Four Seasons for a first timer in SH? I'm Hilton Diamond and am looking for a good view from the room.

Diamonds are treated well here.. make sure you ask for a river view room. The view is magical... looking over to Pudong and the lights at night.. much better than looking back from Pudong to the Bund. Walk the bund, enjoy the light show from your room. Its even nice in the morning to see the city waking up and the traffic on the river.

That hotel looks sunning. Im happy to stay there for one night in December. Lucky me I made the Diamond status already.
Just wondering if the WA SH provides an Executive lounge with complimentary snacks?
