Mystery Travel Agent Account # on Reservation

I just booked a 1 night stay at Hilton Tokyo for June via Hilton.com. Now I saw a Travel Agent Account #20170 appear on my reservation. I have never used travel agent nor corp code in my life. Any inputs??

Thx.

I'm wondering how you know that is a travel agent number. Most travel agent accts have the format xx-xxxxxx (2 numbers, a dash, followed by 6 numbers).

Question Travel Agent Number???

Made a few bookings today and this shows up at the confirmation:

Travel Agent Number: 00020110
and at the bottom of the reservation (Rules and Restrictions) the following statement:

This rate is non-commissionable.
What is that about???

Did you use a SET code that may have a negotiated rate for the property?

No. On one reservation I did use the AAA code as I have done before.

As the owner of a travel business, when I book rooms on the Hilton.com travel agent website, there is a space for "Travel Agent Number," which is my IATA code. Entering that code is how commission is tracked - if I don't enter my IATA code, I won't get paid commission on the booking (assuming it's a commissionable rate).

IATA has a service that allows you to check a code to verify an agency and I ran that number - 00020110 - and it came up INVALID, which means it's not a travel agency's IATA number (I didn't think so, based on the number, but wanted to check just in case). If it's not a travel agent IATA number, it's probably the AAA discount code. Don't know why you got the non-commissionable message (it would say that on the travel agent site) but that's standard for discounted rates.

I've had the same thing happen to me with random reservations. No pattern.

But what I've also experienced is that if you've gone to the Hilton site via a Kayak or other portal search, the travel agent number is almost impossible to get rid for awhile on future reservations.

I made about 5 or 6 reservations for the coming months, they all have travel agent number 20395 with non-commissionable indicated. I used MVP corporate account number and went through AMEX MR bonus shopping mall to make the reservations.

For those of you who had the non-commissionable travel agent number show up and can't get rid of, did it interfere with the posting of MR points or Hilton promo/bonuses?

EDIT: Even if I didn't go through bonus shopping mall and not enter in corporate account number, the travel agent number field is still pre-filled for me.
