How long until HH Amex points post?
 

Sorry, I haven't been able to find the answer to this one. Got and paid my first bill over a week ago, but points aren't showing up on HHonors site. With SPG, points post day my statement is dated (no need to even pay bill).

usually about a week and a half. i don't usually keep track though. you rushing to get enough for a vacation?

It states on my recent bills that points post in 48 hours. I was at the Hilton Barcelona on 13th and points posted on 15th April. I stayed at the London Gatwick Hilton on 28th April, and points posted on 30th April. So its seems to be working. Much better than last year when it could take up to 14 days for the points to post.

Are the points posted when you pay the bill or when the monthly statement is sent out?

For me, usually 2-3 days after the closing date. Usually, you can see how many points you're gonna get on the PDF of your bill at the AMEX Website, and in my experience for the last over 6 months, 1-2 days later it is on the HHonors website. Definitely has nothing to do with when/whether you pay the bill!

Occasionally, I have been in a situation where the HHonors Website main page shows I have the points, but when I try to book the award, the old, smaller number of points are listed. In my experience, this always updates within 24 hrs.

Overall, I would say within 3 days of your closing date, you should be able to have and use the points.

Thanks for the info, Uncle Lars. My closing date was 4/22 and points still haven't posted. I'm not in a hurry to get an award, but having just gotten the card I wanted to know how it works. I'll let you know if it doesn't post by early next week.

My March AMEX points didn't show on my HHonors Activity summary for more than a week after closing date.Once they posted the HHonors Activity summary date added showed only 3 days after closing.April was also slow but can't say exactly how long it took.
Before that time I thought it was about 2-3 days to show on HHonors Activity summary.

If this is your first statement, it may take a little longer tha normal. I seemed to recall that it took me a couple of months to get my points to post correctly when I first got the card and it was only with the assistance of a fellow FTer who put me in touch with somebody at Amex.

How long does it take for introductory bonus points to be posted. I am scheduled to have 40k in hhonors points due to the offer I recieved.
