i presume so. just wanted to check - the latter is what's frequently found in US hotels, and frustrates someone who doesnt drink coffee.
Yes there is an actual kettle for boiling water and a Nespresso coffee machine.

The Chinese need the kettles to cook their cups of noodles.

Is there anything out there big enough to be worth eating? I never saw any much bigger than the palm of my hand, not that I would catch and cook one.

Would it be crass for me to request something else, like fruit? My girlfriend and I don't drink champagne or wine.

Not at all crass. They can change it for something non-alcoholic or just tell them you'd rather have fruit instead. They won't think anything of it and will be happy to oblige.

Are the 95,000 point "standard reward" water villa offers that people first noticed in late 2017 the new normal?

I just booked five nights in a water villa for 380,000 points in late August. Appeared to be a lot of availability.

My prior visit was in a beach villa so this will be a nice change.

It is the new norm until they change it. No idea if or when it will go back to BVs only.

Haven't stayed in a FWV but I presume the clear glass is the norm in all RWVs

and the translucent glass in the FWVs.

Have they been like that from the very beginning, i.e; when they first split the 21 villas into 14 RWVs & 7 FWVs?

The website now shows the following message:

In an effort to continually evolve the resort’s villas, from May 15 – October 15 2018 the resort will be refurbishing the Deluxe Beach Villas. Work will be carried out throughout the day and will not impact your stay. We look forward to showcasing to you our upgraded product and welcoming you to Conrad Maldives Rangali Island.

Booked water villa for late August. Just got email with this upgrade offer. I'll stick with the regular water villa.

"it’s with great pleasure to recommend your stay in a higher category, where we extend a special upgrade supplement.

A Premier Water Villa which has an infinity pool and Jacuzzi: upgrade charge $ 985.00 per Villa per night.

Deluxe Water Villa which has a Jacuzzi : upgrade charge $ 432.00 per Villa per night"

Thanks. Will update the wiki with that info. Presumably the BSes will be refurbished too.

And thanks jphripjah, will add those rates to the wiki. Presume they are exclusive of taxes?
