Hey FT!

Was planning to book a stay @ Beijing in Dec 2012 on Hilton Website and i found out that Conrad Beijing will be available by then! (Opens in Oct 2012). Anyone has seen or heard news about it?

One of my Hilton friends told me that it's actually running ahead of schedule. I expect it to be a very nice hotel.

Does anyone know whether this hotel's location is good for tourists? We have arranged a tour guide and car for our trip so public transport links not essential, but is there much in the vicinity to keep one occupied in the evenings or is Wangfujing a better bet?
Thanks in advance

Alright it's the AM of 2/20/13... did the Conrad Beijing open up last night? I've got 5 nights booked at the Hilton Wangfujing but given the massive devaluation; should I change to the Conrad and clear my point balance out? Can't wait to hear some thoughts...

There is far more to do in the evenings in that area than in Wangfujing.

I'm also very keen to hear if anyone's giving this place a test otherwise I might have to do so in 2-3 weeks. Also to get clear of the HH devaluation.

I was already trying to decide between the Conrad and Hilton Wangfujing before the devaluation but my trip is not until late July so I was going to wait a while before booking. Now I have to book sooner than planned. This will be my first time in China, no real plans yet for Beijing but I'll be staying 4 nights and going to Great Wall, forbidden city etc. Would appreciate any advice for Hilton vs Conrad.

Well, the previous post states it will open on March 15th, so... No.
