Problem with Status
Bear with me here....Starwood Preferred Guest so I always stay at Westin....Through AAdvantage, got a Hilton Gold VIP Card and stuffed in drawer, but got it out last week when I stayed at a Garden Inn. The guy said I wasn't Gold even though I Had the card, so I looked in the packet, and I had to register by 2/28/07 to be Gold for a year. I called the help desk - no go, they said I am only Blue and cannot be comped to Gold because I missed the promotion.
I'd like to give Hilton some more business is there something I can do to get a Gold status? |
What is your status with *wood? You may be able to do status matching but you will probably have a challenge to complete (4-6 stays in 90 days).
You can also check if your company has a Gold challenge for its employees. Those are usually 4 stays in 90 days. If you do a search you will find a lot of info on status matching and challenges. |
Why don't you just register the promotion on the Hilton Racing (http://www.hiltonracing.com/) web page? After 4 stays you will become Gold.

Or get an HHonors AMEX? It's fee free, gives you lifetime (of the card) silver status, and a 4 stays in 90 days fast track to Gold. Also gives you 5 hhonors points on hilton stays and 3 hhonors points on everything else.
