DISCUSSION for Hilton Honors Hotels in Taiwan {TWN}
 

I am traveling to TPE and I have searched for a Hilton chain but I couldn't find anything.
Anyone stayed in TPE for a couple of days on business?

Just FYI, since Hilton sold their only hotel in Taipei a few years ago, there is no hilton brand hotel in Taiwan anymore.

any way to use Hilton points in Taipei, Taiwan?
 

I am going to Taipei, Taiwan next week to pick up our adopted baby. I was hoping to be able to use Hilton points for our stay there, but I don't see any Hilton properties in Taipei. Are there any partner hotels or any way to transfer points to another program? I've been saving Hilton points and AmEx points for this trip and hope to use the AmEx for the airfare. Is there any way to use Hilton points for airfare and then I could use the AmEx for a hotel?

There hasn't been a good HHonors option in Taipei for quite a while.

You can exchange Hhonors points for miles but I do not find it a very good exchange rate.

There are other opportunities to exchange points as well on the left hand side of the page linked above.

As said above, there isn't any good options for HHonors in TPE at all unfortunately. I usually end up staying in HKG and then diong day trips to TPE instead.

If you don't find a better method, I suggest either the Westin or the Hyatt for decent hotels in town.

More importantly, congrats on your adoption!

I know it's an old thread. I'm just wondering if any plans for Hilton to open a new one in the near future.

According to Flyertea (thread in Chinese if you can read it) there is a HGI planned in Taipei (and another property in Taichung). I can't find any other information online though. Has anyone heard anything, or have a list of pipeline properties?

Hilton Taipei Sinban (near Banqiao) scheduled to open October 2018 after a 16-year absence from this country.
