Thanks; it is a business trip and for one night only. I am only silver with Hilton, so no real perks. According to my research, the Grand has free wifi and breakfast included with the rates. Hilton only has a B&B rate that includes breakfast but not wifi...

I'm leaning towards the Grand...thanks so far, folks

Update: I found an unbelievable pre-paid rate of 113GBP per night for a Sea View King Deluxe at the Hilton. I bit the bullet and went for it. I'll post my experiences here after my one-night stay next month.

Thanks again for all the input...

To a native Brooklynite such as yourself, that will be very special.

After all, you will have a hotel room with a view of Brighton Beach.

Anyway, the rate I paid when I was there was Ł79, which was a great room rate — but I also had to pay Ł14 for parking because I had a rental car with me.

Why didn't you park it in one of the streets at the back? They've got parking meters but it's free from 8PM to 9AM iirc.

IMHO, this place isn't worth more than Ł59 a night, beyond that it is an utter rip off.

I've repeated this before, but all my stays at this property have had problems. The staff are either not interested or incompetent (or sometimes both). You're better to stay at LGW and take the train down to Brighton or stay at Arundel if you're flexible and after HH points/stays.

We 'discovered' Brighton Beach when we were in NY and found it fascinating. My pidgin Russian got me further than I thought.

Totally agree with the sentiment (see my previous posts in this thread), but what you're paying for here is the prime seafront location in a very popular resort city in peak season - it's a very different location to most of the UK out-of-town Hiltons.

...because I did not know about that until just now?

I normally avoid car parks and fees. I erroneously believed it was unavoidable at this property.

It is too late for me, but thank you for providing this valuable information to those who plan on staying at this property in the future who have a vehicle that needs to be parked overnight.

I'm sure that I'll pay the price for my decision...no pun intended.

Executive Lounge?

Is there an Executive lounge at this property?

Any other benefits that I should expect or ask for as HH Gold?

Thanks in advance

There was no Executive Lounge when I was there a few years ago.

Expect the standard benefits, such as breakfast in the restaurant — my breakfast was the full breakfast buffet in the restaurant of as much as I wanted to eat, and the food for breakfast was excellent when I was there — as well as the bonus Hilton HHonors points for your stay, free butter cookies, and the additional service associated with your status.
