Much as I love buses - the LT Routemaster, anyway - I could not recommend this option to a visitor with any more baggage than a newspaper.
It would be interesting to know which LHR hotels are served by red buses. Anybody know?</font>

There are a lot of posts about the LHR Hilton. Try a search function. After reading those responses, let us know if you have a particular question.
I have stayed at the Heathrow Hilton several times; it is the easiest hotel option when arriving late and departing early. I am Hilton Gold. My room was small, but adequate. I certainly wouldn't use this property for other than an overnight stay - but it fits the bill for convenience.

So Hamblik wants to know my plans? Quite simply I'm looking for the easiest, laziest most convenient place to spend the night. Nothing more, nothing less. The gist of my questions was; is this hotel quiet, convenient and maybe even has a decent place to eat. Afer the night it's off to Berlin for 2 days and the Tallinn. Hamblik, any chance of catching up with you there for a beer? Oops, let's make that wine instead.

Leisure rates are loaded .. stayed there last weekend for 109GBP including breakfast and tickets to Legoland. Two day advance booking from memory, code LQ call reservations although I have seen it online.
[Edit] But of course 1st Oct is a Tuesday and these rates are Fri/Sat/Sun and school holidays ;-(

Tinky, the young lady at the front desk of the Trafalgar quoted us a much lower rate to book our award room (two queens, huge room) for a paid stay than was listed on the website for a single queen room. I'd call Hilton LHR directly and beg for their best rate. If all else fails, I think it's only 30,000 pts for a night.
