Diamond Newbie Question
 

As of today, I achieved Diamond level for the 1st time. This is great because I need to stay at a "sold out" hotel in 2 weeks. How do I take advantage of getting a reservation at a sold-out property? Will it just let me do it on-line with Diamond Status or do I have to call reservations? Thanks for your help.

But yes, you should be able to do it on-line with regular reservations (it'll say, "Diamond Only" or something like that.

If you can't, look for the "Chhat" button and the Diamond Desk can help you on-line without you having to call. Otherwise... call the Diamond reservations line.

Getting into a sold out property works the majority of the tme, but not always. If the hotel is in a high volume season or if there is a large convention in town, Hhonors will tell you they can't get you in due to high volume.

However...be prepared to pay the Rack Rate which could be several times more than you are used to paying.

I've had best success calling reservations when you can't get in via the web. Never failed yet.

Normally the web site will say "may be available with Diamond" Otherwise you are out of luck
