Do anyone ever get the feeling that sometimes when you post here that others with an opposing mindset doesnt even bother to read much lesss try understand what being posted?
Seems they are just content to repeat the same mantra over and over.

Each of the times I was not targetted, I either called or emailed and was successful in getting X promotion added to my account. I believe I have only once or twice gotten a standard cc form reponse.
In all cases I just asked again a little differently or through a different medium (email to phone, phone to email, etc) and was signed up for the promotion.

We'll see how it goes with this one... although my last few hotel stays have been with *wood (because of business requirements) so I am thinking I might just stick with *wood until I get to their 1st level elite (Gold?). Although I dread having to learn the ins and outs of another loyalty program. :rolleyes:

I didn't receive any e-mails or mailings. Called this morning to the diamond desk and was told that I was targeted for Double Miles Promo. I explained that my account is set up for Points+Points, so this would not benefit me. :confused:

Rep left to talk to Supervisor, and explained that the offer can not be changed. :td:

Called right back.....Same question to Rep.....Tripple Points Added. :cool:

All this promo and targeted promo stuff, is very interesting and very confusing.

I've been an Hhonors member since the program started & have been a Diamond for some time.

For whatever reason, I always assumed that offers were across the board and didn't ever realize that they were targetted, until I read this thread and began comparing the offers I received to those that people recently posted.

I don't know how many of you get "My Way Account Summary and Deals" emails. I still haven't figured out how recently these emails get sent. The last one that I can find that I received appears to be in February. Anyways, There's this link in my February message that shows "Just for You". I clicked and was taken to a webpage that shows special offers, I didn't realize existed. At the bottom of that page, it has a bunch of other special offers that are supposedly "Just for Me" (it shows my name) that are categorized into subjects like points, miles, rates, rewards, sweepstakes, etc. I searched (Ctrl+F) through the points page, except for the Triple base points, in Central America I posted on Friday & one for Thailand, I still don't see any other Triple points like some of you received. As for double base points, all my double base points appear to be targetted to certain geographical areas and sometimes to certain hotels w/in a certain city.

All the info posted to this thread has been very eye opening to me!!

I got the double miles email the other day. I have never received miles, and have always done points + points whenever I stay with Hiltons.

I called today, explained the situation to the CSR, she consulted with some folks while I was on hold for a bit, then removed the double miles and added the triple base points promotion to my account. Two thumbs up from me!

Also, don't forget to try [email protected] if no luck with the Diamond Desk. Have gotten promotions in the past added through our own "help desk" :)

Wrote a nice letter to [email protected] explaining that I've spent nearly $30,000 at Hilton since September and they gave me Double Points :)

I wasn't targetted last time but was able to get 5/10/15 added to my account by asking.

If you did points and points and used you CC for an extra 3 points thats 690,000 points not bad ^

Had to use my DC. With triple points promo, doing points + miles (minus tax), netted around 420,000 honors points and around 20,000 miles

oops you could have got a week in rome. I guess 20000 airline miles is almost enough for a rt ticket to FLL Points rule :)

They probably do not target me simply becuase of my spending. I'm at an ES in a downtown area, 4-5 nights a week. :)

I had no status and zero points on October 26 2005, I made Diamond in Jan ^

There were two weeks in a row where I netted 40,000 points each week due to diamond myway bonus, diamond 50% bonus, triple points and parking a car there for $20 night plus my base room rate.

Now, for the current rolling period, I have 178,500 base points. So I guess that's more like $17,800 when you take out taxes, and probably more like $25,000 before taxes now that I look at it.

But the travelling will slow down as the soon to be mrs kcnwa wants me home for some time before the wedding, work permitting.

Just wondering, since I've never gotten one of these bonus offer emails, what is the address that they come from? Maybe my email filter is deleting them and I don't even know it (I doubt it, but who knows).

I wondered that too. Or the corporate filter is taking them out since I use my work email address.
