Thanks.
I think its a safe bet that this rate does not qualify for double dip.

Even if it is 500 points and counts toward VIP status, not a bad deal...

Cool

Pardon this personal post (no e-mail)

Good for you MisterNice, will be arriving Maui, December 2 and staying at Hyatt. Maybe we can say Hi!

Make sure you go to the Belagio (sp) as the water show and opera are fantastic! Best coupon book is at the Hard Rock.

I once made a reservation through lvrs, but did not receive any HHonors points. Here's a E-mail from HHonors.

>Thank you for your e-mail.
>
>When you have a stay at a Hilton Hotel, you have to be the paying
>registered guest at time of check in, in order to receive HHonors points.
>Unfortunately, prepaid stays are not eligible for HHonors credit.

But it does count as a stay toward renewing/obtaining elite/VIP status?

It's not on my record at all. So it didn't count. I showed my Silver VIP card upon check-in, and the lady typed in my membership number. BTW, this was at Reno Hilton ($39/night), not LV Hilton.

suzuki -- Could you please clarify? I didn't see anything in the offer that required prepayment, so I didn't follow why the policy regarding prepaid rooms would have applied in this case. Please let me know.

Thanks and regards,

Adam

Adam--the booking is thru lvrs... and they require prepayment. I have used them before for another trip last year. I still do not know why this would not get points, etc... I will be going in August (summer hot) in conjunction with a certificate flight on UA. I have stayed at all the Hiltons in LV. The only one we had trouble at was the LVHilton. Our room was a battle zone from some drunken party the night before. The room was trashed. We were given that room, without any clean up. Bed was on the floor, in two parts an considerably regurgitated on. I am only a Silver member now (long time no stay though), and still hope to do better!! I will be traveling alone, so I ready to camp, if necessary.

I was really shocked at the price offered. This is really low for this hotel. Guess nothing is happening at the convention center. The hotel is a little "lonely" out there.

There are big swings in occupancy rates for hotels. I tried finding a Hilton for this weekend - nothing available, so I used Priceline.

A few years ago Hilton was even offering free nights to HHonors members for Reno/LV properties on select dates. It had to be guaranteed to a credit card, free if you show up, but charged if you do not.

Surprise!
I stayed at LV Hilton at this $25 rate in July and received 298 HHonors points. This was totally unexpected. I had prepaid the $25+$2.25tax through LVRS, but charged $4.17 on my room account (it's just the coffee). So I received a bill for $4.17 only. I have no idea how they came up with teh 298 pts.
Last time I stayed at Reno Hilton, I didn't charge anything on my room account. Everything was prepaid and they didn't give me a bill.

My stay for the PiP is at the Hilton Hawaiian Village through a United Vacations tour package. Does this discussion mean that that stay won't count as a "stay"? My count for gold status will be close, so every stay counts. Since that stay is towards the end of the year, I need to be sure.
