I've stayed there numerous times as a gold VIP, and the variety of room quality varies dramatically. When you check in ask for a newly renovated executive room. I have never received breakfast there, but they do give you access to the spa facilities.

Ive never been happy with LVH. Too far from anything. Even if convention is at the Hilton Convention Center I stay at Flamingo.

Just came back from Flamingo. Upgraded to nice suite on top floor with great view of Ballagio Fountains.

My last stay at LVH several years ago, they did upgrade me to a Cabana Suite. Big deal!

Another reason I dont like LVH is that I lost my ... in the casino there several years ago as if that should mean anything today.

BTW, my boss got upgraded to a 2 floor suite at Ballys a few weeks ago. I dont know anything about Paris.

One note, that is based on double occupancy so double the cost to $50.00.

Thanks for the info doc.

Las Vegas Hilton

Hi Hilton experts,

What do you all think about the Las Vegas Hilton? The rate is about $58 per night and sounds good to me.

How is it compare to other hotels in the strip?

Thanks,
Carfield

The Las Vegas Hilton is actually not on the strip - it is next to the convention center. You'll have to take a cab to get to the strip. As for the hotel, it's comparable to the new hotels and have always had success in upgrading there.

The Star Trek experience (in the hotel) is worth a trip. I'm not a trekkie but enjoyed it very much. If you are looking to wander from property to property on the strip I'd suggest one of the other ones. If you don't mind a small commute ( less than 5 minutes by cab) then stay at LAS hilton.

The distance from the LVH to the strip (specifically the Riviera) is about half a mile. Whether that's a reasonable walk depends on the time of year. Very nice walk in November--and just forget it in July.

1) if you are going to rent a car, then do as I did stay at the Hilton and just park in any of the self-parking lots of any of the hotels on the strip(I used the Alladins since it was midway on the strip) they arre all FREE.

2)I found most of the valay parking although free isnt worth it since it takes years till they bring your car.At the LV Hilton get a room in the North Tower its right next door to their self-parking and the entrance has a glass elevator that takes you up to your floor.

3)dont know when you plan to go but check out LV Hilton.com (specials) or call the Hilton 800# and ask about value rates, they are $45 a day when aviable but are non-refundable.

Actually, also the 45$ rate is refundable, but you have to call at least 48 hours in advance. You cannot do that online...

Greetings - Dirk

I was told the $55 is refundable if cancelled 2 days B4.But that the $45 was FINAL. Which if you get credit for the stay is still worth it especially under the promo going on. The $45 is a Value Rate the $55 is not the Value Rate.

I have stayed at the Las vegas Hilton and enjoyed it. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. In case you are not driving, there is a trolly that costs $1.50 each way & goes down the Strip. The trolly leaves from the back of the Hilton, ask someone for direct directions.

Also, while I was there last April, I went over to the Sahara where I was asked to go to a time-share seminar. It took about 2 hours of our time but we got free tickets to see the Rat Pack Returns which is a great show. We actually were going to pay for the tickets when we were offered the seminar/free tickets.

Have fun on your trip
Joy

Vegas Hilton is an ok property if compared to other resorts of similar age - but if comparing to new resorts, it simply does not stack up. But for the price, it cannot be beat - and if you are willing to walk or drive, you will get your monies worth.
