If you are talking about the Hilton Prague, I am there quite often and unless something has happened since my last stay about 3 weeks ago, it is the same great lounge with the same great staff and the same great cakes.
I hope there is some miscommunication here because the staff (Ernest and his team) are unbelievable. The best in Europe and the Guest Relations manager Petr is the best in the business.

And you will note I did compliment the staff...lets be honest there are some with whom butter wouldn't melt!
Everyone has their own tastes but frozen nuggets are not mine for a hotel hoping to sell suites for up to and over 20,000 CZK. How many years have you been staying there? Perhaps you cannot recall it being as good as I do and this is something I am sure about compared to my last visit in August 2015. For example the old furniture was there (not missed), there were more cold options, better hot (i.e. more protein, fewer cheap ingredients) and menus on the table for breakfast. There used to be so many cakes the entire left side of the buffet was full, now it occupies the corner...
Regarding the comment of "best in Europe" the afternoon tea it is arguably better at Prague compared to say Canary Wharf but CW has much better evening food setup compared to Prague. Frozen nuggets (PRG) compared to sea bass with ratatouille (CW)...and on a weekend ?
I have no issue with nuggets, properly prepared homemade ones can be delicious and nutricious...but not from a bag.
I have always been pre-upgraded to at least a suite without the need to pester the hotel by the way .

Yes I am talking about this hotel but would you mind substantiating why the lounge is so good apart from the cakes and the staff? You no doubt noticed the lack of menu's on the breakfast tables in the lounge in the past three weeks? It was confirmed these had been withdrawn, with the legacy option continuing.

We really enjoyed the Executive Lounge at Hilton Prague when i stayed here last.
The lounge had all day alcohol and great food including tasty mini burgers and other unusual snacks you do not see in a lot of Executive lounges.
Previous posts are correct about room upgrades weve only ever had Executive rooms here which are small.
Breakfast downstairs is very good

I was upgraded to a suite as a gold, even though I was really a diamond but it wasn't reflected in the system yet.
Not sure if they had the availability or whether the guy was being really nice because my wife was upset after we got ripped off by the cabby. Either way - service was great.

Nice place. I checked in on the 8th floor exec, room wasn't ready so had a coffee in the lounge while I waited.
Missed "tea" with aforementioned cakes and whatnot, but there were a few bowls of chips, mochi, cashews, peanuts, granola bars, soft drinks, ice, juices.
Room is a Jr suite, nice. Well appointed in the soaps and robes department. Large enough.
Went up for dinner-hour lounge. Two hot fingerfood items (chicken w mango, and a little egg roll cigar thing each with nice sauces. Cold pasta and some ham rollup.
Liquor selections are good, maybe 15-20 different ports, tequila, rum, vodka, scotch, Campari, etc. they stay out for a few hours, see sked above.
Espresso machine and good teas. Iced wines which I don't drink but pic above.

One thing I've liked about this hotel is they've accommodated very early check-ins when I've stayed there. We're talking showing up at 830-900a. I've always hoped for it, never demanded for it. It was always a type of "worst case, I'll drop my bags and head into the city" type of thing.
They've always accommodated though - usually needing about 20-30 minutes to make sure the room's ready. We've been invited to the lounge for breakfast while we waited.
Even with the lounge devaluation, the hotel has gotten the service part down pretty well.

Hi All,
Stayed 24th March 2016, my previous stay was on 8th February 2016 for 4 nights, was waiting until I stayed again to see if the comments made by hugolover were correct, I did not want to say anything until I checked it out.
I arrived early about 1.00 pm and noticed a load of trainees downstairs, asked if I could check in but was informed room not ready, okay left my bag and went into the city.
Went back to hotel about 4.00 pm, collected bag and went up to 8th floor to check in, did not recognise anyone but was giving my usual room. This was my 29 stay in about 10 years at this hotel.
My room was near the lounge so I popped in to see what the afternoon teas were on offer, and agree totally with hugolover that they are a pale comparison to what they were in the past. One choice finger sandwich and some little cakes, in the past there were large cutting cakes and quite a selection of various cold bites.
It was then I was hit with the shock, the smoking lounge has been removed, I was shocked, one of the best lounges just went straight down in my book.
Now I know lots of people will say great, but hang on for us smokers it just goes on. Went to reception desk and asked why and was told it was because they introduced new furniture and Guest had complained of the smell of smoke. (I wonder what they will now complain about).
After getting ready for the evening I went back into lounge at about 6.30, very busy there was a friendly international game on. Choice of food a very fatty piece of Pork/ham and a cheese in breadcrumbs and a cold selection mozzarella balls and tomatoes again nothing compared to the past. (See my previous post about Hilton Prague with photo of Ham). There were about 3 staff on and they struggled with the numbers.
Had a drink and decided to look in to the old smoking lounge which has I feared was now taking over by families with children, when it was a smoking lounge it kept it reasonably quite.
Had breakfast downstairs, but did look into lounge and did not recognise any staff.
Back in about 5 weeks for a 2 night stay and that will probably be my last.

I found the smoking room to be well ventilated and very nice and quiet, not crowded.
I am going there in a week's time and was looking forward to the lounge, now a little less so.

Paid stay in the last 2 weeks. The excellent part was being upgraded to a suite - it was essentially 2 connecting rooms, in which one room had a king bed/bath and the other had a sofabed/shower-only.
Hotel is big, appears to cater to tours/conventions. Location (for walking) is less ideal than the Old Town location although there is a metro stop (Florenc) nearby. There appears to be a shortcut to metro - go out through basement entrance (-1 Floor), walk straight out of doors, across parking lot, and cut through building in front.
The EL, however, as noted in earlier recent posts, is not great. Evenings were essentially chicken nuggets. 2 cakes + 1 mouse for the afternoon reception. Ate breakfast in restaurant downstairs.
I had a midnight train out on day of checkout, they did not let me hang out in the lounge (I was asking at 8pm after the entire day out) - to be fair, we were a family of 4 (2 kids) but I took a peek and the lounge, while not empty, was also not full. I was told "if you're checked out, you cannot use lounge".
And with that, summed up the hotel perfectly. On par with other European Hiltons, but nothing special (aside from room upgrade, which I was grateful for)

I like the hotel, and would readily return. I felt the exec lounge was very good, couldn't believe wine/beer was on offer until late, very appreciated. Upgraded to a junior suite part way through stay after a couple of emails, no upgrade before this as we coincided with the visit of the Chinese President who booked the top floors.
We had a great stay in Prague, I was impressed with both Hiltons.

My third stay here in the last 2 years and I agree that the selection of food in the lounge in the evening is considerably smaller than it used to be. 2 hot and one cold(salad).
What was there was fine though (no nuggets) but a few more cold options would have been nice.
They do still have the second serving (cheese and vegetables) later in the evening which I quite like.
Still have wines and spirits and the wines are out for a long time.
The hotel also still offers the choice of breakfast in lounge or in restaurant.
