Sad incidence, but no notice to guests

Checked in today, asked about the boarded up area (due to plans to dine at Chambers) but just told "upgrading work" and closed due to this. Saw the article on the news and decidedly a poor show by management by not being honest. The entire area from Lobby to Level 5 is closed off with no link to LM apart from lobby or car park.

Lots of pictures doing the rounds in social media- looks like a fairly serious incident, obviously the hotel plans to downplay the whole thing. Surprisingly such a thing could happen and probably much more serious if during the day!

Falling 40 feet is nothing trivial. I once fell about 12 feet (at Angkor Wat) and that was enough to fracture my spine and leave me permanently disabled.

Some good memories from the Zeta bar. I've met some very interesting folks there over the years. But, man, is it expensive!

im here at the moment. The affected area is still sealed off and it looks as if a false wall is to block off making the whole lobby small. Will post photos later.
