New Hilton Honors Targeted Promotions: November 2005 — February 2006

Finally get myself one. Choose from

1. Triple base points.
2. Stay 5 nights, get 1 free night; Stay 10, get 2; Stay 15, get 3.
However in the T&C, it state: "During the promotion period, a Free Night certificate valid for one free night will be issued after a member completes three qualifying stays (three stays); a second Free Night certificate valid for one free night will be issued after two additional qualifying stays (five stays); and a third Free Night certificate valid for one free night will be issued after two or more additional qualifying stays (seven stays)." kind of confused.
3. Double miles.
Offer is valid for qualifying stays between November 1, 2005 and February 28, 2006.

Update: Although "This offer is for named recipient only and is not transferable", no hurt to try, right? here is the link
https://www.hiltonhhonors.com/PYO/in...9A2&offer=PYO4

I am a gold member, 20 stays(32 nights) this year. And this is the first time I receive a targeted offer. Good luck to everyone!

As Hyatt wraps up FFN, Hilton starts one. If I am targeted I'll be back to Hilton . This is the third time they are offering this promo - that's a good sign.

Sounds like it's 3 stays or 5 nights for one free night; 5 stays or 10 nights for two free nights; 7 stays or 15 nights for three free nights. HH promotions usually work both ways.

DISCLAIMER: I have not received the promo so I am only going by the verbiage provided by dunwu.

I got it in the email last night before going to bed:
"Welcome, Mr. dunwu. We know it’s not easy to impress a road warrior like you, but a choice of three great offers might just do the trick..."

Hi,

No email for me yet.

I did get the Triple point offer for stays during June though ( handy on my trip to Hawaii), I would hope that something similar will come in the next day or two.

I have a few stays in Vancouver ,Canada coming up at the end of the month and SPG are offering triple points and Marriott are offering double points also.

Although I would probably stay at the hilton ( esp Vancouver metrotown) for a few nights, I might try the Sheraton Wall centre ( esp with Plat status and triple poins)

Regards

Left out part:

"Thank you for being a loyal Diamond-level customer. Please keep spending those travel nights in Hilton properties."
Yep, me too, guess us Gold's don't get any further incentives either...

I didn't get this, but I was looking at the T&C at the bottom of the page. A few observations.

1. Bonus points earned on Base points do not count toward VIP tier qualification Why call them base points then!

2. Free nights expire "February 28, 2007, and cannot be extended".

3. No mention of free nights after stays, only after nights.

I was originally thinking that the 3x points would be the thing due to the base points (helping to qualify, plus be redeemable). Assuming a night at $160 (regular Hilton in Newark area, where most of my stays are these days) would net 5x3x10x160 base points per stay = 24,000 points which is close to equivalent to a free night many places plus a big portion of points towards VIP status. But no status from points. Now if you can use the free night at ANY property, then the voucher could be worth significantly more (cat6 is 40,000 points/night). In fact, since you get the initial base points, the theoretical 5 night stay is only worth 16,000 points "bonus".

Going for free nights instead makes sense IF you won't exceed 15 nights. If in fact there is a stay equivalent, then hotel hopping might make a 7 stay max viable. Odd numbers of stays, extended stays, or high price properties would imply go for the points.

I don't see airline miles as an option. Is 2,500 miles/5 nights worth the 16,000 HHonors points it displaces? Not in my book.

This is standard language for HHonors promotions (and actually shows up within the HHonors T&C themselves). IMO, they call them double or triple base promotions to clarify that the recipient will receive a bonus derived from the number of base points, and not any other bonuses (elite or otherwise) that would add on through various means.
