I just checked out after a 3-day stay booked through Impresario. Flawless elite recognition. We received an upgrade to a gorgeous room with breathtaking view over the eternal city. The restaurant staff amazingly hasn't lost their sense of humor during the pandemic, they are as good as ever.

The outdoor pool and gym are open, indoor pool and spa closed. Breakfast is served from a buffet behind plexiglas. The shuttle to Via Bissolati leaves at 10.30, 11.30, 17.30 and 18.30 from the hotel returning half an hour later.

Thanks Travel4Love. That’s really helpful. Do you know if they have plans to re-open the indoor pool and spa any time soon, or if the Imperial Club is open?

The Imperial Club was open (I hadn't booked a club room, but I inquired about the club out of curiosity). The indoor pool and spa were closed because of government restrictions. As far as I can tell these restrictions are supposed to get lifted on July 1st. So we can hope that indoor pool and spa will open again after that date.

Great info. Thank you. Now all I need is for the U.K. to put Italy on the green list so I can plan a trip back to one of my favourite hotels!

I just hope the hotel is back to normal before my stay the beginning of Sept.

Has anyone used the Vatican tour arranged by the hotel? I would love to get impressions on it.

Also, what about the Rolls Royce transportation from the airport? Is it worth it or just get the Mercedes?

I like using the hotel’s transportation, it makes getting to and from the hotel a breeze. During my stay at WA Los Cabos in May, he escorted us into the airport and made sure we got through everything quickly and with zero hassles. With the paperwork chaos going on with covid at international airports it was a lifesaver.

Didn't mean to offend. Just a little tongue in cheek. We took the Mercedes option once, and it was fine. But subsequently a taxi, other than the time we used our European Delivery car to drive from Germany to Italy (and beyond).

Oh I laughed, I know I’m ridiculous on vacation. Some things I will splurge on and others I will be cheap. Flying to the vacay spot I like first class and coming back I don’t care if it’s flying with chickens.

What is the general upgrade charge to Imperial Club access from a standard room?

I've seen a few reports recently that Golds do not get free breakfast anymore, is that actually true? Would that not go against Hilton's promises?

The new program is a food credit, not free breakfast.

Not sure why you are saying this about a hotel in Rome. The new program does not apply to international hotels…..

That only applies to the US (or America?), but certainly not Europe.

By following a few links from the hotel’s homepage, I found the following which gives quite a comprehensive update on the status of services (it was hidden behind an update on the maintenance of the front facade). The closure of the spa’s wet areas (one of my favourite Cavalieri experiences) is a shame but understandable, but will probably keep me away until things improve.

I have emailed the hotel to ask what the current service is like in the Imperial Club. I hear that last year it was limited to pre-packaged items.
