If this had happened to me, I would have expected my current stay, plus a future stay, plus some sort of meal to be free. Being stuck in an elevator for 2.5 hours is not fun for anyone involved. Its a waste of time for everyone, and totally unacceptable. In fact I would be weary of even utilizing another elevator on that property who is to say that those are maintained properly either, and also contact the city building department or whomever is in charge of inspecting elevators making sure this issue has been noted.
