Will this stop my points from expiring

Sorry. I can't find the answer anywhere.

If i had a stay that was booked through a travel agent (with no h honours points given). Will that extend the expiry of previously earned points?

Along those lines - do the "thanks again" points stop my points from expiring?

How was I being rude, but asking if you seen the above referenced thread. There are many people that do not search or do not search deep enough.

I posted that to help, if you thought I did it to be rude, that's on you.

Having said that, since this is a duplicate post, can this thread be merged?

Apparently YOU have not read that thread. Even on the first page, there are references and quotes of the T&C's that says that you need to earn or spend points to maintain your account.

Why can't people take at least some responsibility on their own and at least TRY to do some research..?

As stated above not I have I read the thread, but I have posted on it as well.

You talk about reading the first page!? Forgive me for not using a 13 year old page to base my decision on. I mean it's not like hilton honors has changed much since then is it!

Perhaps mods would find it in the best interest of this thread to post the link with current expiration policy on the first page:

http://hhonors3.hilton.com/en/terms/index.html#genera

and reference point 13 -

I created a WikiPost to which anyone who has been a FlyerTalk member for a minimum of 180 days and posted a minimum of 180 times can contribute and edit.

Thank you, jumpdogjump.

Will bonus points by changing password keep account active for another year?

I changed my password and got my points credited after contacting the service center. Thye're credited as a 'service center adjustment'.

Will these points count as activity in the account and keep my points from expiring?

PS I wanted to post this in the thread about the bonus points for changing the password but could not find this thread...

I wrote this and posted it on my blog when I was facing some expiring Hilton Points - 7 Ways to Prevent Your Hilton HHonors Points From Expiring

Since you need at least 1 eligible point earning activity every 12 months I don't think that will work. But you can cancel and rebook yourself directly through Hilton.

Here's a summary of the post
1) Use a free site like awardwallet to stay organized
2) Use your Hilton credit card
3) Use HonorsDining to earn points when you eat out
4) Shop with a Hilton partner business to earn points
5) Buy points - $12.50 for 1,000 Hilton Points
6) Stay at a Hilton
7) Donate points to charity

Regarding staying at a Hilton:
1. Will a fully prepaid rate qualify as a stay if I do not show up to the hotel? (ie. I want to pay just for the purpose of it counting as a stay)
2. What would be the best way to find the cheapest Hilton room? (for the purpose of #1)
