I was just there recently for a one-night stay.

I dreaded staying at that property when I first passed by it as it did not look appealing from the outside, but the room I was in was actually quite nice and comfortable. It was clean, well-appointed with a microwave oven and a mini-refrigerator, a nice bed, and everything else one would expect to find in a newly-renovated Hampton Inn property — yet the room rate was inexpensive. I believe it was US$63.00 per night, not including tax. The staff was friendly, also.

I would recommend this property.

Talking Hampton has motels?

Wow, I registered for a Hampton Inn in Clarksville sight unseen, I think the webpage image showed the facade front and the breakfast area? Imagine my surprise when I pulled up to a Motor Inn/Motel. The doors open to the parking lot and no central lobby entrance.

I didnt know these were in their inventory, I gotta pay closer attention.

I don't know how many are left, but it seems that they are slowly getting rid of them, there are not as many as there used to be.

I think one of the Hampton locations in San Diego (near the Sports Arena) is a motel-style building.

That's actually the motel next door...the Hampton rooms, at least from what I've seen, are all accessible from indoor hallways.

Perhaps you should ask for a 100% Hampton Satisfaction Guarantee refund.

Not all of them, but the poster upstream is correct; Hilton is slowly getting rid of them.

(Although one of my favorite stays -- the Hampton at the ABQ airport -- is outside corridors)

Nope. I stay there often (I find it a decent place for a short night stay, actually) and it's got covered hallways.

I actually just stayed at the Hampton Inn Phoenix/Tempe. It's not a motor inn....it's an actual converted apartment complex, with hallways opening to the parking lot. It was decent, but very odd.

Hampton Inn Chattanooga I-75 has an old building that is exterior access and a (slightly) newer building that is interior access. Even if all rooms were interior access, this would be about the worst HI I've ever stayed at. Needs to be de-franchised with a quickness.

I stayed in a outdoor access HI in Statesboro, GA every two weeks for about 8 months. Great staff. They knew my name after about 3 stays.

The Woodlands, TX, just off I-45 (western side) - stayed there a few years back, hasn't improved if recent reviews are anything to go by

That is probably the wost Hampton I've stayed at. The Comfort Inn (or was it Quality?) next door looked much nicer.

A different question: Clarksville has something as nice as a Hampton Inn?

There was a time when all Hamptons were Motels. Now they only build Hotels. Mississippi is full of them and if the address is in the mid-west, the probability is high. Really it is not a problem though if the service and cleanliness is there. Actually there is a benefit to backing up to your door.

Not like they are Motor Inns in the Hilton brand.
