Embassy Suites Convention Center Las Vegas {US-NV}

Has anyone stayed at the new Embassy Suites in Las Vegas (the convention center location)? Is it walking distance to the convention center?

I've never stayed there, but have passed by (you mean the one on Paradise Blvd?). It looks within walking distance, but it could be a 5 or 10 minute walk! (same side of the street though).

I just returned from LV, and would say it is NOT a walk to the Convention center, but there might be a hotel shuttle to handle that. It was a 109 degrees and breezy.
It looks close on a map and they might even say they are nearby the center, but it is not.

I second the previous statement. And yes, they will happily shuttle to convention center.

Embassy Suites Convention Center Las Vegas Trip Reports and Reviews

I just stayed at the Embassy Suites Las Vegas Convention Center during CES.

The hotel was pre-paid by the company, so all I got points for was the Incidentals, but not for the room charges.
(Room was pretty expensive, and I was there for 6 nights.)

Incidentals posted really quickly too: I checked out Sunday, and Monday the points were there.

Anyone had any luck with a similar situation, or any ideas?

By the way, the hotel is really nice and new.
No casino, very convenient to the new South Hall at the Convention Center.

Thanks in advance for the help.

If you are staying for a convention or other group master rate (where someone arranges rooms for many people) Hhonors specifically states you will not received credit for the stay or points for the stay.

If you are staying and your charges are direct billed, but you settle the charges, you get full credit.

Don't know the reason, but luckily I'm currently in the second category.

I ran into the same situation last year. During my stay, I spoke with the front desk and changed my record to reflect my name only and paid for the charges myself. It was the only way to get credit for the stay. The company that was paying for it had to reimburse me for my air travel anyway and they didn't mind adding the hotel expenses on the same report.

I agree with your comment about the ES Convention Center LAS. It is a nice property.

It's easy, take your accounts payab;le person to lunch, when the invoice comes in, get the whole amount credited to your HHonors Number.....

Las Es?

Anyone have any information about the ES-convention center in Las Vegas?

Thanks!

I stayed there about 1 1/2 years ago. Upgraded to a huge corner suite as a Diamond. I'm staying there this Thursday for the CES. Not sure what to expect as everything is jammed for the convention.

I'll be there for CES also, scoping home media gateways and content distribution products and apps. wed -fri

Thanks for the reply.

I've stayed there about 4 times and it's my choice of hotels in Las Vegas. It's a great alternative to casino hotels if you aren't a gambler and are sick of the sound of slot machines. It's one of the better ES hotels which I've stayed in. The only problem I've had there is trying to get a taxi. Because its not on the strip you have to get the front desk to call and on occassion I've had to wait 20 minutes. However, both the Sands and LV convention centers are walkable from this hotel.

I concur with bobsyouruncle. I generally stay at the ES - LAS Convention Center (which is a walk from either convention centre, not at it... and not far from Ruth's Chris, etc.) because it is non-gaming and very decent. Ding, ding, ka-ching! We have a winnah... ;)

I was given a corner suite as a Gold without my saying a thing. This property'd be my choice for being in the strip area.

Stayed there for five nights last month. Diamond amenity was two small bottles of water and one small packet of cookies (the size/kind you get in NW clubs). Hotel was overrun with families - quite crowded as it was the holiday season. Room was typical ES - no upgrade to corner. Parking free.

Ran a 'on request' car shuttle to both the CC and the strip (once an hour, no return guaranteed since it was 'on request' drop-off only). Manager's reception was OK but very crowded; included popcorn, tortilla chips, salsa/cheese/beans; mixed pretzels/crackers. Breakfast was a zoo - very crowded; ran out of various items (but we went down towards the end of the timeframe - may have been better earlier).

Internet access (wired) from room - $9.95 day (noon-noon)
