Thanks for the reply.
Hey nwhsd,
I'm looking for Home Theatre stuff as I'm going to start at the end of the month and have not finalized equipment yet. Media gateways - as in computer storage of all media (music and video)? If it is, I'm also looking at that.
I'm arriving tomorrow late morning.

Thumbs up ES LV CC is a Winner!

Agree w/ all comments thus far.

Last Oct (on a mat run to get Diamond which I did!)...stayed at the LV ES CC 2 nights and 1 night at the LV ES near Hard Rock and preferred the LV ES CC big-time.

Was HHGold at the time and the ES CC bent over backwards by giving huge corner/balcony suite and on the return stay the next day, pre-reserved a different corner suite/view for me as I casually mentioned the mat run and would return the next day.

LV ES Hard-Rock area did no favors and the reception/breakfast were not as good either compared to the ES CC.

Only drawback - getting in/out of the LV ES CC being under the monorail track.....traffic backs up "big time" at times to the point that you have to turn right out of the hotel towards the CC with even more traffic.

Stayed there for a convention last year. Nice rooms. Relatively quiet. Decent breakfast. Nice free Happy Hour. Did not get any upgrade despite being Diamond. Walking to the South Hall is actually closer than the Hilton. They also gave free rides to the strip, although I am not sure if they do that now that the monorail is running.

Gotta love HH Diamond. I had to call the Diamond desk to get me in as every hotel is s/o due to the CES. I arrived at 2:30 today to not only find my room ready, but upgraded to a suite and a welcome back note in my room.

Another alternative for the ES CC is you are walking distance to the monorail if you want to go casinos on the strip. Stayed at both. Like the other one because it was close to the Hard Rock for night time entertainment and casino action (other side of street). Also this property had a shuttle to and from Bally's about a year ago. Caution, this may not be the case since Bally's is no longer affiliated with Hilton.

Any reviews or thoughts on the ES Las Vegas Convention Center? Any portion of the hotel better then others? How is the breakfast?

Thanks,

Eric

I stayed there a couple of years ago - upgraded to a corner suite as Gold without requesting it. The breakfast was standard ES, and the Manager's Reception was decent. I'd recommend the property if you want to stay in that part of town.

I stayed their last year while a GOLD, and was upgraded to room 901 which has this humungous balcony facing the front of the hotel. There were lounge chairs out there, and it was a nice place to relax in the evening with a great view of the back side of the strip. If only they had a BBQ up there, it would have been a great party spot. Alas, I was traveling alone.

ES LVCC is pretty darned good, IMO. Of course, it's not that near the Convention Center, if you have to carry tons of samples or literature...

What I like: NO gaming, little smoke. Good breakfast, decent reception, great service and treatment, good for upgrades. A completely different ambiance here due to the no gaming... but it will get crowded during CC functions. I'm usually there for business (servicing local cleints,) so it works very well for me.

Sure. Just like it's 'technically' possible to win a Keno jackpot.

Sorry.

Now let me see if I can redeem myself with a more contructive suggestion.

It has been widely discussed in this forum how easy it is to get Gold status through various and sundry promos, status matching, credit card memberships, etc. You might want to look into finding a fast track to Gold. Just an idea. @:-)

I stayed there last year. It is probably a 10 minute walk (15 if you are slow) to the convention center. It is actually right next door for the most part, but you have to walk around to the entrance.

Not a bad place at all. I'd stay there again if I need to visit the LVCC.

Was there a few years back, and had a good experience. As gold, got an 'upgrade' to a room with a small (not practical) balcony, and standard water/snack. Staff was friendly (which I've found can be an issue in Vegas). At the time, they had a shuttle service for local trips, as well as runs to the strip - can't remember specifics, though, as met up with someone who had a car available.

Question - monorail wasn't up and running at the time. Since it's right out front (I think - correct me if I'm wrong), are there any floors or rooms to avoid (mainly from a view standpoint, I guess, instead of noise [Miss Hoover: 'I hear those things are awfully loud...' Lyle Lanley: 'It glides as softly as a cloud.'])?
