ADD-CAI-ADD by car would be rather uncomfortable for a long weekend
and might bode dangerous as well
Any more helpful suggestions anyone

Has anyone used this company for transfers before?
http://www.cairoshuttlebus.com/
I'm arriving at 1am (BA flight) .. on a Monday morning..so I figured that it'll be relatively quiet getting to the Conrad.
I haven't been to the Conrad in over 10 years. Advised by a friend not to 'wander' around..
Anyone else have any other feedback?

Drive time roughly 30 min but it was raining cats & dogs and the driver drove extremely careful.
We were walking from the Conrad to the Egyptian Museum, about 30 minutes walk,no problem at all.
On the a back we took a taxi,20 minutes to the Conrad. The traffic has definitely not changed

At the end we took a taxi in the upper floor of the airport and we negotiated 80 or 90 EGP to the Conrad. It was not very clean though...
Good luck!
