On what basis do you reach that conclusion?

I indeed have chosen the air plane.

ADD-CAI-ADD by car would be rather uncomfortable for a long weekend
and might bode dangerous as well

Any more helpful suggestions anyone

Probably since Cairo has become rather disgusting even if just using the copious amounts of trash lying around everywhere as a gauge

Update.

We left the Conrad at 8 pm and it took 1 hour to reach the airport.

In the early afternoon I would estimate 1:15 - 1:30 hrs.

Has anyone used this company for transfers before?

http://www.cairoshuttlebus.com/

I'm arriving at 1am (BA flight) .. on a Monday morning..so I figured that it'll be relatively quiet getting to the Conrad.

I haven't been to the Conrad in over 10 years. Advised by a friend not to 'wander' around..

Anyone else have any other feedback?

No experience with this company.Had a late / early arrival as well ( 1:30 am ) and used the Conrads meet & assist service.

Drive time roughly 30 min but it was raining cats & dogs and the driver drove extremely careful.

We were walking from the Conrad to the Egyptian Museum, about 30 minutes walk,no problem at all.

On the a back we took a taxi,20 minutes to the Conrad. The traffic has definitely not changed

I have booked with them 3 times. First one, back in 2008, was fine. The last 2, one this year, there was nobody waiting for us in the airport.

At the end we took a taxi in the upper floor of the airport and we negotiated 80 or 90 EGP to the Conrad. It was not very clean though...

Good luck!

Expatsomchai recommended VIATOR and UBER might be also a possibility.
