Hilton Gold for LH SEN?

a friend of mine received a free upgrade to HH Gold when he became LH Senator (Star Alliance Gold). Myself (being SEN as well) never got anything. Anybody knows about tthis promo, when it ended, etc.?

Are you sure it was HH Gold? I remember the SPG Gold promo, but I, as a SEN, never got offered HH Gold either (got it through some other promo and then became Diamond later). I cannot remember having read anything about a promo like that (HH Gold based on LH Sen) in this forum either.

FWIW, I've never heard of anything like this. I would have to believe it was either a mistake or an offering of HH Gold for some other reason.

well he told me he got the gold card the same day as his SEN card, so obviously there should have been a connection as he had never stayed in a Hilton before!!! But well, I will have to work my way up then I assume if there is no nice promo out there...

Air New Zealand offers this too

My wife, who had never stayed at a Hilton, was offered a Gold card as a promotion for Air New Zealand Gold frequent flyers.

I got a HH Gold via BA a few years back - they just sent me the gold card in the post as a "thank you" for being a frequent flier. Its definitely targeted to those who did not stay at Hiltons very much - it worked. I now nearly always stay at a Hilton given the choice in most cities but opt for Starwood properties where there is a W.

It was Starwood Gold a year and a half ago as LH SEN.

You will get Hilton Gold as a LH HON.

Cheers

There actually must be some relation between LH SEN and HH Gold.

Last year two colleagues (both HH blue level and LH SEN) received a complimentary HH Gold card valid for 1 year (and only those colleages being LH SEN).

Maybe HHonors just picked some potential new customers??
