Hilton Garden Inn El Paso Airport {US-TX}
Might not be ground breaking news, actually it is :p, but we are finally getting a 3rd member of the Hilton family here in ELP, and it's on the University campus, which is a great location

The 153-room hotel, which will be built at Oregon Street and University Avenue, is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2005. “This will be a great opportunity for the entire community,” said Greg McNicol, associate vice president for finance and administration at UTEP. “Having the hotel here will not only benefit the school, but also the nearby hospitals.” Russell A. Vandenburg, president and CEO of EPT Management Co. and a UTEP alumnus, and Charles Garrett, president and chief operating officer of TVO North America, will join Natalicio at Monday’s ceremony. I know of the Airport location (ridiculous prices and nasty service) and that's it. There is also the HGI Juarez. Are you thinking of the former Camino Real? It's no longer a Hilton. |

I would, under all circumstances, stay away from the Embassy Suites, though. Unless you like the feeling of sleeping on the freeway. |

Found online: New Hilton hotel to be built near airport - 12/8/2004 Plans were recently announced to build a $12 million, 123-room, residential-style Hilton hotel on the site of a vacant jeans factory near the El Paso International Airport entrance. Plans for the nine-acre site, where a former Levi Strauss & Co. jean factory stands at 1633 Airway, also will include development of two restaurants outside the hotel. Data from Smith Travel Research shows average occupancy of almost 74 percent in the past 12 months at hotels in the El Paso airport area, including several near Interstate 10 and Airway Boulevard.
