The Hilton in Mystic Connecticut may be worth looking into, you have some beaches near by, though a trip a bit up the road to Rhode Island (Misquamicut) will get you even better beaches. That's like 30 miles away. If the weather doesn't work out you are right near the Mystic Aquarium (you can probably walk easier then drive) and Mystic Seaport to keep the kids happy.
If the kids are into Gambling, then you aren't that far from Foxwoods either.

If you want to drive even further north, the HGI at the Protland, ME airport is just wonderful. Lots of Maine beaches within easy journey, plus all the character of downtown Portland close by as well. This property is on my yearly visit list
I believe another HGI opened near the historic downtown district, but I haven't stayed there before.

There is the Atlantic City Hilton but it's not really a Hilton, it's a Park Place property. I'm not sure of the rules for earning points or using an award.

Hilton/ES beach resorts
I am unable to get the search function to work properly.
I remember reading about a couple of great properties which I think were in the Florida Keys, but I can’t remember the names or locations.
Planning a early summer trip for wife and kids (11&14). Looking for info on great Hilton/ES beach resort type properties in the US.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Also, any good properties in/near Cape Cod?

Hilton Keys properties
You can search for it on Hilton's site. There is the Hilton Key West Resort and Marina and the one I have heard more about it the Sunset Key Guest Cottages.
Have fun!

Best Hilton Beach Property
We've just accumulated 200K points after buying a home (www.awardsformortgageandrealestate.com - easiest points I've ever earned just by using one of their realtors!), and now we want to take a week vacation to a Hilton property somewhere tropical on the water with a nice beach. Any recommendations? We've got a tight budget, so it looks like the St. Lucia property is out of the question ($80 cab ride just to get to the freakin hotel from the airport, not to mention the cost of food there!!!). We've got enough airline miles to get us to the caribbean or hawaii...
Of course the Maldives property looks absolutely perfect, but just getting there from the West Coast would take two days of flying each way, and with a 3 year old, that's something I'd rather not do....
Any suggestions and/or recommendations would be appreciated!

I just returned from the Hilton Sandestin, FL and had a nice stay. Easy to get to, friendly staff, lots of places to eat in Baytowne. The beaches were spotless sugar white sand. My favorite part was the fact that they had beach side servers. No need to schlep back to the hotel for lunch or drinks.
Here are my pictures from the trip. there are lots of photos of the hotel.

Marco
I don't know that this is the best,( in the eye of the beholder...) but I like Marco Island. Right on the beach, lots of local places to eat at, less than an hour from RSW (Ft. Myers airport) easy to fly in and out of, rental cars are cheap in FL, and you'll need on here at Marco. The beach at Marco is about 50-60 yards deep from the dunes to the water.....the Sandestin Hilton is great too, and the sugar beach is a 10. Beach at Marco is great for shelling too...not as white and sugary as Sandestin. ^

Another Florida Suggestion
The Clearwater Beach Hilton is pretty nice, too. The beach is very wide, nice white sand. Not quite as white as Sandestin, but still a very nice beach. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance too.

Given your location I assume that you are looking in the US, but the best Hilton Beach Resort I have ever visited was Mauritius. Lovely hotel, great decor, super staff, outstanding spa. There is a small Casino nearby also. The dining is a little expensive but for that an absolutely fantastic experience.
