Hampton Inn LAX
I was surprised to find out Hampton Inn Los Angeles Airport does not provide shuttle service. (10300 La Cienega Blvd.) The hotel is 2.5 miles away from the airport. it is not within walking distant. No where on the website says it does not provide shuttle service. Am I wrong to assume an hotel with airport name will provide shuttle service? This really makes me lost confidence on the Hilton brand.

To be fair the front page does not advertise an airport shuttle ( hotels that do have a shuttle have advertised it ie embassy suites los angeles airport) and the location link on the website says airport shuttle not provided Hotel Location - Hampton Inn by Hilton Los Angeles Airport and also the hotel amenities information webpage Hotel Amenities - Hampton Inn by Hilton Los Angeles Airport I think if it does not state airport shuttle on the website you need to assume there is no shuttle ( and even if there is , if you have an early morning flight you may want to double check the operating hours) even though the hotel name has airport Regards TBS |
If a hotel attaches its name with an airport name, and does not provide shuttle service, it needs to explicitly inform potential customers with the information. Otherwise it is a deceiving practice. (At least in the U.S.). Most people search airport hotels with the airport name, and will assume airport hotels provide shuttle service. This hotel should rename itself to Hampton Inn Inglewood, or more people will get confused. We are not the only guests made this wrong assumption, and the front desk clearly knew this is a common complain. I am disappointing that Hilton allows the franchise naming whatever they want. This will confuse their brand.

Ever since COVID, it seems like more and more of these "airport" hotels do not have a shuttle. Some still have a shuttle but charge a fee for it.
There are multiple Hampton Inns that have LAX in their property name. It is confusing. Funny to see this place that used to have free parking now want $25 for that. They used to have a shuttle too. . That was a long time ago I was there though- perhaps 2009-2010. It has since debranded from Hampton to Wingate and is now a Hampton again. It seems service has severely diminished in this current era of Hampton branding vs. the previous era of Hampton branding. |
