Thanks so much for that. I'm still giving my Hotel person a chance to get back in the groove after Thanksgiving, so I at this point don't know what the hotel will do, but I'll write to that HiltonComments if they say no.
I have good news, too...I recontacted the GM, and she readily agreed to cancel and refund the points. As it turns out, there IS a HUUUUGE Music Festival during our dates, hence the restrictive cancellation policy, and I'm so thankful for her cooperation.

Wasn't there also an issue with some hotels that charge a no-show fee on award bookings? Ugh.

Because of this I'm going to be extra vigilant reviewing the cancellation policies before booking - even when you "think" you know what they "should" be.
