Maintaining Status confusion

I'm currently Diamond and will likely exceed 84,000 base points and may or may not exceed 42 nights in 2022.

I currently have 30 nights+50 rolled over from 2021.

When would I maintain Diamond until if I qualify via 2022 base points?

If I qualify via base points, any advantages to trying to get above 42 nights this year?

Thanks!

Hi

I think if you have 30 nights plus 50 rollover from 2021then you have requalified for diamond for 2023.
If you stay more than 42 nights in 2022 then those nights above 42 will rollover to 2023 and help to requalify during 2023

Regards

All nights from 2021 rolled over - so you are definitely Diamond for 2023.

Whatever nights you manage in 2022 will also be useful for picking up the bonus points from the Milestone bonuses at 30, 40, 50, etc. nights.

No real advantage to earning more base points, unless I have forgotten something...

"All nights you earned in 2021 from stays between January 1through December 31, 2021, have automatically carried over to the 2022
calendar year and will count towards your
2022-2024 Tier Status"

This is what I find confounding.

All nights earned in 2021 will count towards your 2022-2024 status?

2024?

as I understand it, all nights above 42 in 2022(in the 42 we are including the rollover nights from 2021), count for 2023 re qualification.

I’m not sure what you are quoting, your requalification in 2022, determines your status for 2023. Your status in 2023 does not expire until 31MAR24 if you have not requalified.

From hilton.com:

Are members able to rollover all nights stayed in 2021 to help earn status in 2022?

All nights stayed in the 2021 calendar year will rollover into the new year to provide a head start toward earning status. For example, a member that stays 15 nights in 2021 will start with 15 nights toward status in 2022 (which will deliver status through March 2024). Nights from 2020 that rolled over into 2021 are not eligible to again rollover into 2022.
In any event, your counter should already show that you have requalified based upon the rollover nights and other nights you have reported.

Ok, I’m not sure what the confusion is. With the rollover nights and the 2022 nights you’ve reported, you’ve requalified and your diamond status is good until 31MAR2024.Any nights you stay above 42 in 2022 will rollover for 2023 requalification. Your rollover nights from 2021 will not rollover to 2023.

OK, I know I have enough new 2022 nights to qualify for 2023 status. Forget those for a moment.

It specifically says 2021 nights will apply to 2022-2024 status. How will 2021 nights be relevant beyond 2022?

The 2021 nights count for the 42 nights you need in 2022 to requalify as diamond. Those 42 nights needed in 2022 (which include your 2021 rollover nights) determine your status in 2023. Your 2023 status does not expire until 2024 (31 MAR).

It should not be so hard to understand. 2023 status expires on March 31, 2024.

I'm not trying to be difficult.

According to what you just said:

50 2021 nights rolled into 2022 giving me status in 2023 which expires in 2024 (without needing to stay a single night in 2022) Assuming that's correct, great.

What about the additional 30 nights I earned in 2022?

OK, so this means nights earned in 2022, above 42, in 2022 only roll over into 2023 for 2024-25 status?

Or, does it mean 2021 rollovers+2022 earned nights above 42 roll over into 2023?

IE 50 2021 rollover nights+30 earned in 2022 =80

80-42=38. rollover into 2023?

Yes. But you need 42 nights for Diamond in 2022. You will achieve that amount based upon your rollover nights from 2021. But only the nights you stay in 2022 that are in excess of the 42 nights required for Diamond in 2022 will rollover to 2023. For example if you stay 50 nights in 2022, 8 nights will rollover to 2023. Also see the earlier posts.

In any event, I'm out. Maybe you should call Hilton Honors.

Anything up to 42 nights in 2022 are wasted. (except for milestone bonuses)

Nights above 42 will roll over to 2023.
