I inquired about the $100 excursion credit to my contact who I've been emailing with. No luck for me. Here was his reply:
"Many thanks for your e-mail
Minimum 4 nights stay & a copy of marriage certificate of less than 12 months to be presented at checking for the below honeymoon extras.
a) Fruit Basket & 1 bottle of Champagne in the Villa upon arrival
b) Afternoon Tea or Shishah for 2 guests in Rangali Bar.
c) Romantic Bed Decoration
d) One romantic 3-course dinner in Mandhoo Restaurant, excluding beverages.
Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions or if we can assist you in any way.
Best regards,"
Any advice on how to confirm this credit? I'm wondering if I'm emailing with the wrong person.

Edit: If you are staying for the minimum of 4 nights you get the benefits listed except the $100 credit. You need to stay a minimum of 6 nights to get the $100 credit. I'll adjust my previous post to reflect this new info.

Can i ask, is redeeming Hilton Points generally a nightmare, or were we just unlucky?
Mrs PMOG spent a good 3hrs on the phone to the Hilton Honours team yesterday before finally getting somewhere, and of the many people she spoke to, most seemed pretty clueless.
Additionally, its been noted in earlier post that a deposit is required when making points bookings, and we were advised the same - we've been told that ~$10k needs to be pre-authorised on our card for a stay in several months time, even though the cost of the additional nights & upgrades that we need to pay locally is below that. I'm assuming for now that this is a mistake, and awaiting to see what CMRI advise directly, but i must say that the interactions with the HH team did not inspire boundless confidence that they know what they are talking about.

However, you can book points redemptions online so that is surely a much easier option? The credit card issue is known, but seems to be a glitch of some sort that hopefully will be resolved soon.

It's a call centre. There are good agents who are knowledgable, and there are ones who are... less knowledgable.

I think we got there in the end (probably we finally ended up with a decent agent), but frustrating that what felt like a fairly standard request was met with such unlimited confusion.

MaldivesFreak Looks like we'll be at the property at the same time!
I've read every comment since September 2019 and I think anyone lurking would love to know these answers:
Have you gotten a chance to check out Koko for yourself to verify whether the bad review a few pages back still stands?
Have you tried Inhouse dining yet this time?
Is your AC working?
How much sunscreen did you bring and how is it holding up for you and your wife?
Similar situation here with the wife.
Is the new HappyHour worth going to, and how was the menu?
How is the timeliness and accuracy to the quotes for turn-down service, or cart drivers hospitality in providing rides to guests?

I just got back from CM. On the 31st Dec, we were out diving on Manta point, saw 2 mantas, and then a whale shark came to visit :-)

This was our 9th visit to CM and we had a great time. We were put in room 232, refurbished Deluxe beach villa which was perfect for us. We found the staff wonderful as always. Enjoyed all dinners Uffa x2, Lobster / champagne beach BBQ, Sunset Grill x2 , Rangali x2 and Vilu...Vilu was our only disappointment, it just took too long to get the food.
As I think we have all been spoiled, it is too easy to pick up on any negatives. The first couple of days I found myself musing over Christmas decorations and 'cleaning stations' and thinking how unnecessary they are. Once I got over that (!) , we had a great time.
This was our first trip over Christmas / New Year, and the resort felt busier with more families. We normally go in March. Our 8yr old, still loves the kids club and thinks we should always go Xmas/NY !
Dive Centre is very well managed. Only change is that you now meet in the shop not at the main Jetty. I logged 10 dives, a mixture of morning and afternoons.
New Years Eve party was very good, and I think the supplement is justified, perhaps not for kids.

A/C working fine.
Brought only a litre of sunscreen but haven't used much yet because, believe it or not, we haven't been in the water yet.

New Happy Hour is fine for us as we use it as a way to meet new people and friends and don't drink alcohol so aren't fussed about the changes nor do we go there for snacks so don't mind if the offerings are smaller. We're in the minority here though but do think that the canapes are pathetically small and they should be spending all of a few tens of dollars to make them a decent size.
Turndown service is as requested. I think vnfilm1 had some miscommunication with his host. The room boys aren`t idiots so no need to worry about that.
Cart drivers (who aren't engineering / catering etc) act the same way they always have and that's not to offer rides. They occasionally do but I guess they only offer a ride if they aren't on another call to go somewhere else.

Just wanted to state that if the abrupt removal of afternoon Tea and vast reduction in service at Gold/Diamonds Happy hour is permanent then I think it's a signficant downgrade for this resort and a potential deal breaker for many that consider making future bookings here.
Has there been an official communication on the cancellation of afternoon Tea?
I hope to be proved wrong, but it sounds like there's no longer food appetisers & no longer a selection of drinks other than a alcoholic fruit punch you might find at a fraternity party.
Please let me know if my impression of these sudden changes is wildly inaccurate.

Not tried Koko Grill yet or IVD.

What I said in my post is what had happened to us during our second visit.
And I am not the only one who experience of bad service about room request cleaning and very long waiting for buggy to come .

Buggy delay
No miscommunication at all in my case. Just a bad very service from CR staff during my 2nd stay.

As an aside I would love them to hire out e-bikes during daylight hours and with speed limiters installed, could be useful.

What are people's experience with email response times when emailing specific staff members?
Emailed Person 1 for activities. Replied after about 36 hours.
Emailed Person 2 for restaurant reservations. Still waiting for reply after 36 hours.

I have been getting a response time of about 24-36 hours. Is it necessary to make reservations for excursions and/or dinner?

30 days for restaurants? Is that even true!? Last time I was there we could just make dinner plans the day before or the morning of and have our pick at the restaurant. This was end of November 2016 so I dont know how much that changes for months like Jan-Mar.
