Amex: Spend $8000 by 28FEB2022 Get a Free Night Award

Received in an.email from HiltonHonors today entitled "-----, your Card Member perks summary is here".

Enroll now and earn a Free Night Reward after you spend $8,000 with your Card through February 28, 2022.

Terms and conditions:

1. Spend $8,000, get a Free Night Reward

You must enroll to participate. Offer to enroll is available to eligible Basic Card Members and Additional Card Members who hold a Hilton Honors American Express Card. You will earn one Free Night Reward from Hilton Honors after you spend $8,000 (the "Threshold Amount") on eligible purchases on your enrolled Hilton Honors American Express Card during the Purchase Period. Starting from the time you complete enrollment, you will have through February 28, 2022 ("Purchase Period") to meet the Threshold Amount. Purchases completed prior to enrollment will not count towards the Threshold Amount. Eligible purchases can be made by the Basic Card Member and Additional Card Members. Limited to 1 enrolled Card per Card Account.

The Free Night Reward will be issued in the form of a redeemable code and sent in an email from Hilton Honors to the email address listed on your Hilton Honors account up to 16 weeks after the Threshold Amount has been reached.

Purchases may fall outside of the Purchase Period (and therefore not contribute to the Threshold Amount) in some cases, such as a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction. (For example, if you buy goods online, the purchase date may be the date the goods are shipped).

Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, cash advances, purchase of traveler's checks, purchase or reloading of prepaid cards, purchases of gift cards, person-to-person payments, or other cash equivalents. Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. To receive the Hilton Honors Free Night Reward, your Card Account must not be cancelled or past due at the time of fulfillment.

The Free Night Reward can be redeemed any night of the week for a one night standard accommodation, double occupancy, subject to availability at properties in the Hilton portfolio, excluding those listed at HiltonHonors.com/weekendreward. To redeem the Free Night Reward, you must call 1-800-446-6677. Free Night Rewards issued through this promotion on or before 12/31/2021 will expire on 12/31/2022 and Free Night Rewards issued on or after 1/1/2022 will expire 12 months from date of issuance. The Free Night Reward will be forfeited if not redeemed for a stay on or before the expiration date. To ensure receipt of the reward e-mail notification, you should confirm the correct email address is listed on your Hilton Honors account profile. You can also check your Hilton Honors account for the status of a Free Night Reward issued to you (including the expiration date) by calling 1-800-446-6677. The Free Night Reward is not transferable and may not be redeemed for cash or Hilton Honors Points. The Free Night Reward may be combined with other Hilton or Free Night promotions in market and may be added to existing paid or Reward stays. The Free Night Reward includes all applicable resort fees and taxes on the cost of the room for the redeemed night. The Card Member is responsible for all incidental charges. The Free Night Reward may be subject to additional policies from Hilton Honors; for more information, visit hiltonhonors3.hilton.com/en/about/free-night-terms.html.

Very strong promo. Hilton may have devalued their points rapidly but at least they’re making free nights at aspirational properties very accessible to people willing to engage with the program

This looks targeted and nothing for me yet, fingers crossed.

The 2/28 cutoff for this promo provides a perfect cutover to AA for their new loyalty point scheme where cc spend matters for status.

Multi-year Amex and Aspire cardholder here.

Checked the website, not eligible/targeted for the promo.

My husband and I both have AMEX Hilton cards. His Aspire card was targeted. My Surpass card was not. OP, thanks for starting the thread. Thanks for the link, @aww3583

Ditto thanks to aww3583 ! Also not eligible.

I got it on a Surpass card. Agree this is a strong promo

Eujeanie Nov 3, 2021 7:59 am

We got it on both our Aspire and Surpass.

When I first went to my account I saw nothing. Went back and clicked on the link in this thread and it appeared (without me having to input account no., etc.).

Same thing with second account. Saw nothing on account, went back and clicked on the link in this thread, and the other account appeared.

This is about half the points needed for a FNC on the Surpass card, just with a shorter timeframe. I wonder if the points earned from January1 to February 28 on the Surpass card will count towards BOTH certificates? (this promo plus points towards the 15K usually required)?

I was targeted for this offer on my Hilton Honors Amex (no annual fee card). It's a pretty compelling offer so I will be shifting some spending.

And it's also nice that it can be used on both primary and AU cards - the regular offers are all primary cardholder only.

Very nice promo.

Same here.

No email but when I logged on via the link I was indeed targeted for the promo on my Aspire. Not a big user of the card outside of HH stays which have been limited by pandemic.

Does anyone know what this sentence from the terms means? "subject to availability at properties in the Hilton portfolio, excluding those listed at HiltonHonors.com/weekendreward. " That link just takes you to the Hilton Honors Terms & Conditions page and I don't see anything about such a list.

I also followed the link and did not see any such list of excluded properties.

Eujeanie Nov 3, 2021 3:40 pm

There used to be a list. I recall all-inclusives being on it, and a few other exceptions. But since you have to call to book these (you can't do it yourself on-line) the agent will tell you whether it works or not?
