Always nice to have a hip modern hotel join in the Seattle area... but love this little jem...

"Daily Mandatory Urban Destination Charge will be added to the room rate and includes:Premium guest internet access; daily in-room bottled water; one hour of golf simulator use; unlimited local and long-distance phone calls."

Does ANYONE make long distance calls any more... did you drop your cell phone in the ocean? Golf simulator... really want to be forced to pay for that.... curious if someone that is disabled can argue they shouldn't have to pay for that fee...

Here's the official site: https://www.hotel1000seattle.com/

Surprisingly looks like an excellent hotel in a city that does not have many other excellent options. The game room/golf simulator makes me suspect there are residences in this hotels.

As I noted in the other threat given that prices are only slightly below Four Seasons they're going to have hard time IMO (or to be more precise twice as much as for many of the top and actually really good Hyatts). Fairmont is also much cheaper and there are other reasonable options in Seattle for like half the price. Plus I'm starting to get really confused about what this LXR brand is supposed to be. I mean this ex-Loews is not even close to Biltmore or (hopefully) Roku that is supposed to mimic Aman. On the other end of the spectrum you have Oceana and Habtoor where you pay top $ for pretty mediocre product based on my experiences and reviews of others.

LXR is Hilton's soft luxury flag (like Marriott Luxury Collection). It means nothing. There will be good LXRs but also many bad ones.

Daily Mandatory Urban Destination Charge... wow! I thought it was a joke until I went on their website and checked for myself.

The only thing useful with that is the water and MAYBE the internet access (though now adays that even is questionable with cell phones and most plans including hot spot data now). If they want to tack on extra fees at least make them slightly useful; a "mandatory" credit to the lounge or something like that...

Would be really curious if someone that was disabled or had mobility issues could ..... about the golf simulator fee and get that replaced with a credit for something else....

Those mandatory charges (+ the taxes on top of the charge) are a scam and I will never stay at a property that has them as a result.

A basic room would cost 400$ but in the end one would pay over 500$ for a one night stay. Ridiculous.

Just booked for the 31st of August. Let's see if they have their act together or not. Also interesting how they don't list suites yet I know they have them.

Yes, the top half of the building is residences, the bottom half is the hotel.

I don't think this was an excellent hotel before it got Hilton flagged. I never heard a word said about it one way or the other.

Without a huge remodel, I suspect it will remain ordinary.

It's a nice hotel in Seattle; was well regarded when it opened and Seattle didn't have as many luxury boutique hotels.

I stayed there two months ago after the swap. It was an excellent location (I had work at the Federal building a black away). Otherwise the hotel was absurdly corporate. Lacked anything interesting. Restaurant was of course closed because God forbid they be open on a Monday or Tuesday. Breakfast was meh. Overall it was worth it exclusively for the location. Nothing "wrong" with the room but nothing "great" either. It was ABSOLUTELY NOT luxury. I joked with a friend how they should have branded it as a standard Hilton. Minus the pretty lobby, there was nothing in the hotel above a corporate owned Hilton. For me, that was the nail in the coffin.
