Now that you have stayed at both, how do you compare the Waldorf to Crockfords. I don't like casinos or big crowds usually so love how Waldorf seems like an oasis. My fear with Crockfords is that while the rooms are nice as soon as you go to the main floor you are mixed back in with people staying at the Hilton and Conrad. Thoughts?

Umm…what exactly do you fear about mixing with other guests? Perhaps an AirBnB or similar is a better option for you.

I actually understand what he is saying. There's never anyone ever at the W-A (stayed there twice). Resorts World is a huge behemoth with 3 hotels feeding the common areas (and casino, which W-A does not have), plus all the lookie-loos. Many people just don't like crowds, not even factoring in a still-Covid era. My question would be why go to Vegas at all?

But it gets more complicated if it's not just crowds, but hoi polloi - that somehow he thinks that those who frequent Crockford's are "better" than Hilton and Conrad scum.

It's the same if you stay at the Four Seasons but then have to mix with Mandalay Bay riff raff.

The main floor is a mega-hotel casino/theater/shopping/restaurant area. There are people, and a lot of them. There isn't anything quaint about the area. There is a Crockfords only casino lounge, but, you also say you don't like casinos and are considering a stay in Vegas

Wow - just went to look at my AMEX statement online, and saw I was not only charged for incidentals here (fine), but also for my room rate despite it being a pre-paid stay through AMEX. I called the hotel to ask them to refund my card, they stated the charge was for incidentals (I explained that that wasn't the case), and I was placed on hold for 10 minutes, only to be asked if I could be called back to rectify the charges. I told phone agent that is part of the "Luxury Services Team" that I'd rather just dispute the charge with AMEX as they'll handle it more efficiently and I was done wasting my time and energy at a random hotel in Las Vegas.

This hotel is atrocious, and I highly suggest looking elsewhere.

kthpence, correct me if I'm wrong, but are you the one stayed in the same awful room as me at the Oceana? The one with the blue headboard?

I think I'm really getting fed up with these supposedly deluxe hotels which are lipstick on a pig. Makes me really rethink keeping the Aspire card, because your mindset is that you must extract the most "value" (i.e. highest price) out of your FNC, and I've been disappointed so far in my choices.

I was going to stay at Crockford's for my husband's birthday in September, but have now switched to a different (not Hilton) property and I think I made the right choice.

Crockford's handling of the breakfast benefit alone I find so off-putting and offensive to the spirit of the benefit, but all of these reviews highlighting different shortfalls are just adding to it.

Yes, that is what I meant. My comment had nothing to do with the type of people staying at the other 2 hotels. I am Hilton Diamond and most of my nights come from Hilton, Conrad and Embassy Suites. My comment was more around the # of rooms both of those properties have. Crockfords has a lot fewer rooms so you would think it would feel more secluded but from what I have read it sounds like most of the common spaces are shared between all 3 hotels. Last time I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria it felt very quiet. So you could spend hours in the crowds then return to the hotel and it was like you are in another world. Sounds like that is not the same experience at Crockfords.

thanks. This answers my question. Will stay at Waldorf.

btw, going to Vegas for a concert. I don’t mind casinos or crowds. Just prefer not to stay in one. So Waldorf it is. Thx.

Yes, that was me ! The only Hilton properties I've actually gotten good use from my FNC are WA Cabo, and WA BH (not to get too off topic).

We’ve checked in here for 5 nights (4 nights standard reward, 5th night free) and so far it’s been great.

Upgraded to 50th floor strip view room (after selecting 7th floor room via the app), no quibble about resort fee needing to be paid and $30 per day credit applied / confirmed at check in for any F&B spend in Dawg House at any time of day.

Also, getting here at 3PM meant there was 30+ folks in line to check in. I wanted to see if any upgrades were available and the HHonors dedicated line was empty, so that was a nice bonus to get seen straight away.

hi

if staying at a lxr property should the credit be $25 per night per person ( max of $50 per night)it would be $15 at the hilton element of resorts world.

Regards

Can somebody confirm what locations the FHR credit can be used for in general and what locations the FHR breakfast credit can be used at?

The FHR credit can be used subject to the exclusions in my post here. The FHR breakfast is in The Kitchen.

If you come back to the Crockfords lobby and hang out at the bar there you can avoid all the common spaces shared with the other hotels. They also have a Crockfords only pool but you need to walk through the other pools to get to it. The gym is shared with all 3 hotels. If you want to eat at the restaurants on site, then you'll be in the Resorts World complex with all the other guests from Conrad and Hilton.

Honestly, it's Vegas, it isn't going to be super luxurious like the Oriental in Bangkok no matter where you stay. You'll also run into alot of people during your stay due to the fact that alot of people go to Vegas. For what it offers at the moment, with the stacking of FHR and Gold/Diamond credit, plus the FHR late checkout I don't think I'd stay anywhere else on the strip. I was very happy with my stay there. The Dawg House is fine for pub grub and beers, breakfast was pretty decent and I used the FHR $125 credit for some sushi and Kirin at a counter in the restaurant area that was not bad for being in Vegas rather than in Hamamatsucho. Set your expectations to "Vegas" level and you'll be happy.

Does anyone know if Crockfords charge an early checkout/departure fee? I have 2 night stay but planning on leaving the 2nd night instead of the morning of 3rd day.
