Currently here now in a overwater suite. The extra living room space is definitely comparable to WA's reef villa. WA's pool deck is still larger but I'm honestly quite impress by the hard product. Food wise, its a bit disappointing. Definitely not anywhere close to WA food standards. Considering its only been open for a month or so, they're working on it. The staff and service is great. Bob at Eden which serves wine and gin is a delight. Looking forward to trying his Gin flight. I'd definitely come back here.

Just got back from a 6 night stay. Overall I would give 9.5/10 for the hotel. They are very generous to Diamond members, as they have upgraded us to Overwater Suite and granted complimentary late check-out until 7:30pm, which I didn't expect at all.

The hard product and service are excellent, everything is still brand new and it doesn't take long before the staff members remember our preferences, you also get assigned a staff member that you can reach out to via WhatsApp.

The reason I didn't give it 10/10 is due to the limited food options, especially for lunch as only one restaurant is open for lunch and the room service menu is fairly limited. They did mention it's something they are working on, and because of low occupancy they didn't run any theme nights for dinner either.

Other than that everything is great, and I would have no hesitation in returning to the hotel if I am travelling to the Maldives next time.

Tips I will give to anyone travelling to the hotel soon is (1) Eat more for breakfast as it has a much wider range than the lunch menu, and (2) it's well worth doing some of the weekly activities at the resort, given the low occupancy we had instances where we were the only ones who signed up to them, so we ended up with a private event while paying significantly less than if we were to organise a private event.

I haven't stayed at Conrad so I can't really compare. Perhaps someone else can?

I haven't used it myself but was told there are complimentary Yoga classes at certain time of the day. You can also book the multi-sports court and tennis court for free, and there is a table tennis table at the bar.

For those that have stayed here, I will be making my first trip to the Maldives next month. What is the tipping culture in the Maldives? Did you tip at the resort?

It's appreciated but not expected beyond the service charge. I normally kept some cash on me for meals to hand to the waiters, and at breakfast, I had some get chefs that went out of their way to make dishes they wanted us to try.

Exclusively, minus a 5 euro note I had in my wallet. However, I'm sure they would accept anything.
